Acer Aspire S7-191-6640

The Acer Aspire S7-191-6640 has full ultrabook power in a system that can actually be used on an airline tray table. In Coach.

Very thin. Very light. Includes extended battery pack. 10-point touch screen. Comes with mouse. Clean desktop mode screen. Dual friction on hinge. Standard laptop design with touch screen. 1080p screen. IPS display. Comes with extended battery.

Anemic standard battery life. Limited ports, requires dongles for VGA and Ethernet. Integrated graphics.

Review Acer Aspire S7-191 Ultrabook

Welcome to the world of tiny high-resolution screens. Acer makes

Solid, rigid, extremely light and slim aluminum/magnesium casing; Great workmanship; Very focused, colorful and contrast-rich 11.6 inch Full HD IPS touchscreen; Very good application performance; Extremely fast RAID 0 array comprised of two SSDs; Twin...

Fiddly mounting of the secondary battery; Loud during load; Screen's backlight too dark on battery power; Only average Wi-Fi transmission

How quickly we got used to the high pixel density and the resulting text and icons. Switching back to the reviewer's personal laptop was difficult after the completion of the tests.

Review: Acer Aspire S7 11.6-inch Ultrabook

Acer Aspire S7 11.6-inch Ultrabook brings style, premium to portables

Dual-SSD storage ; Precise, clean finish ; Brilliant touchscreen ; Many bundled accessories

Abysmal battery life ; Poor audio performance ; 4GB RAM limit ; Limited to Windows 8

Ultrabooks abound. Just about every major manufacturer makes them, and too many look like the MacBook Air. The 2011 Intel spec for ultrabooks is very detailed, and gives guidelines for performance, enhancements, and even battery life. As defined by I

Acer Aspire S7 11.6-inch

Hands-on: A gorgeous Ultrabook with a unique design, Full HD IPS touch screen and more.

Acer Aspire S7 (11.6 inch)

Acer takes a step up into premium land with its S7; however, there are still a few rough edges — in particular, battery life.

Full HD IPS screen ; Premium feel ; Dual 128GB SSDs in RAID 0 means super-speed storage ; Decent accessories

Pricey ; Can get quite loud under load ; Backlit keyboard hard to see in half-light ; Poor battery life

From our perspective, it's a great little machine, but it's crippled by its battery life. If Acer decides to bundle the battery expansion free of charge, that would go some way to mitigating the issue, albeit at the cost of extra weight.
