Acer Aspire TimelineX AS5820T-5951

The Acer TimelineX AS5820T-5951 features a Core i3 processor and 7 hours of battery life—pretty sweet for a $700 laptop.

Sleek metal design. Standard volt processor. Over 7 hours of battery life. Lightest in its class. Great user experience. Very inexpensive.

Lacks any sort of cutting edge features, like Blu-ray and discrete graphics.

Review Acer Aspire 5820TG Notebook

Frugal Gamer. A good HD 5650 graphics, perfect performance with a

Good 3D performance; High application performance; Low power consumption; Hybrid: HD 5650 can be disabled; Fast 750GB HDD; High-end haptics; Quiet in office mode; Good touchpad

Loud under load; Few interfaces; Contrast weak display; TFT fairly dark, not AR coated; Imprecise keys

If you are aiming at the ATI HD 5650, you should look at Acer's Aspire 4820TG Timeline X, Dell's Studio 1749, Acer's Aspire 8942G, TravelMate 5740G-524G50MN, TravelMate 7740G, Toshiba's Satellite L670D-120, L650D-10H and Sony's Vaio VPC-EB1S1E/BJ.

Acer Aspire Timeline X 5820TG - Timeless Classic

The Acer Aspire Timeline X series has always been a favorite of ours, so we grabbed the 15.6-inch version, the Timeline X 5820TG to see how it holds up against other similar notebooks. Our verdict? It's still a likable machine despite its classic design.

Very AffordableExcellent battery life

Acer Aspire Timeline X 5820TG - HardwareZone.com

The Aspire TimelineX series in the pursuit of the extreme: extreme performance, extreme battery life, extreme connectivity and extremely thin designs. With the new Aspire TimelineX series there is no need of making compromises: you can have it all.

Very Affordable; Excellent battery life

No outstanding features

Acer Aspire TimelineX 5820TG notebook

Last time we reviewed an Acer Aspire Timeline laptop -- the 14in 4810T, which we tested in mid-2009 -- we were impressed. This time we've got our hand...

Excellent keyboard, very comfortable to use, good battery life for a notebook of this size, reasonably light despite its 15.6in screen

Lid has a propensity to pick up fingerprints, no eSATA port, display has poor viewing angles, might be a little too big for some people

We think the Acer Aspire TimelineX 5820TG is a great notebook. It's comfortable to use, and despite its size it is not inconceivable that you could lug it to and from work or uni.

Acer Aspire TimelineX 5820T review

Fairly portable for its size, the TimelineX 5820T looks great and performs well, but it isn't one of the better TimelineX models we've seen.

Acer Aspire TimelineX 5820t review

The 5820T uses the same black and gunmetal grey chassis as Acer's other TimelineX models. The design is simple, with lots of straight lines and curved corners, which won't appear out of place in either the home or the office.

Fairly portable for its size, the TimelineX 5820T looks great and performs well, but it isn't one of the better TimelineX models we've seen.

Acer Aspire TimelineX 5820TG

Acer's TimelineX is a decent notebook, but one that lacks that killer feature or performance benefit to truly make it standout.

Choice of integrated or dedicated graphics ; Good overall performance ; Slim casing

Integrated graphics don't make much difference to worst-case battery life ; Bland design

It's slim, but not the slimmest. It's certainly not the most attractive notebook. It's a decent performer, albeit one that we wished had more differentiation between its graphics modes when it comes to conserving precious battery power. In the...

Acer TimelineX 5820T review

The Acer TimelineX 5820T is a slim and long-lasting 15.6in notebook, now with more power thanks to its Intel Core i5 processor

The 15.6in Acer TimelineX 5820T delivers an unusual combination of lightning real-world performance and very good battery life, all contained in a well-made slim chassis. If you can find it, the version with ATI 5750 graphics card has incredible gaming...
