Acer Spin 5 review

Solid build quality ; Excellent performance ; Good productivity battery life ; Comfortable keyboard

The display is dim, with below-average contrast ; Bezels are way too big ; SATA SSD is a relatively poor performer

Acer perfectly positioned the Spin 5 in the midrange convertible 2-in-1 niche. It’s attractively priced, well-built, and it provides solid performance and good battery life. Input options are very good, and it tosses Alexa support into the mix. Only a...

Acer Spin 5 (SP513-52N-58WW)

Acer's 13.3-inch Spin 5 is a competent, albeit generic, choice for a convertible laptop. Battery life is its best feature; a few extra ounces are its worst.

Attractive aluminum design. Plenty of ports. Impressive battery life.

Half-an-inch too big. Half-a-pound overweight. No Windows Hello support.

Bottom Line: Acer's 13.3-inch Spin 5 is a competent, albeit generic, choice for a convertible laptop. Battery life is its best feature; a few extra ounces are its worst.

This inexpensive laptop packs in way more than you’d think

The competitively priced Acer Spin 5 packs a bevy of ports and a stylus.

The Acer Spin 5 has a useful convertible design with a modern and sturdy build. Solid keyboard and stylus support. Healthy variety of ports. Surprisingly loud speakers. Long battery life.

It's a bit heavy.

The Acer Spin 5 is a capable convertible that's attractively priced for its features.

Acer Spin 5 review: What it's like to have Amazon Alexa in a laptop

The Acer Spin 5 has Amazon Alexa built in. It's an interesting integration, but not enough to raise this 2-in-1 convertible laptop above the crowd.

Fairly inexpensive given the specs ; Great keyboard and trackpad ; Plenty of ports, including USB-C, USB-A, and full-sized SD

Fan runs noisy and hot ; Thick bezels make the display look cramped ; Alexa integration nullified by limited features and middling audio quality

The Acer Spin 5 is a decent laptop that's worth considering for its good selection of features for the price, especially when it comes to connectivity and the quality of the keyboard and trackpad. On the downside you get merely average performance for...

Acer Spin 5 2020 review

The Acer Spin 5 is a beastly hybrid with a sweet stylus

Competition-crushing performance ; Colorful display ; Stylus included ; Two Thunderbolt 3 ports ; Thin and light

So-so battery life

The Acer Spin 5 is a beastly 2-in-1 with a sweet stylus, but its battery life could be better.
