Can You Trust Your Browser With Your Passwords?

Having your Web browser remember your passwords and/or credit card details can be convenient, but it poses some security risks. How much of a risk depends on which browser you're using, whether you sync with other devices, and whether you're using any...

Alienware M14x Review: The Best or Worst Portable Gaming Laptop?

And so the Alienware M14x was born: A 14-inch gaming notebook that takes up roughly as much space as a 15-inch laptop

Cool AlienFX lighting ; Runs cool even when gaming ; Good keyboard and touchpad ; Decent battery life

Glossy screen ; Thick and heavy ; Poor performance at this price

The Alienware M14x is indeed "the most powerful 14-inch laptop in the universe" but that doesn't mean much when you can get a much better 15-inch or 17-inch gaming laptop for the same price (and roughly the same weight)

Review Alienware M14x Notebook

Premiere. The M14x is Alienwares first 14 inch gaming laptop. A quad-core CPU and GeForce GT 555M make the notebook unique, as this kind of hardware is usually only found in larger models, such as the Schenker XMG A501 or the Dell XPS 17. The M14x -...

Great program performance; Excellent display; Rubber surface; Illuminated case; Futuristic design; Good input devices; High battery life; Lovely sound output

Very high noise emissions; CPU throttling under full load; Battery is screwed into place; Glossy display; No GDDR5-VRAM; Somewhat heavy

The great sound offered by the integrated 2.1 speaker system

Alienware M14x Review: Giving Portable Gaming Another Go

Gaming. Laptop. Portable. These may well be the three most contradictory words in the PC industry. It's been possible to game on laptops for years, but making a high-quality gaming experience portable is a goal rarely achieved.

Alienware M14x Review

The new Alienware M14x gaming laptop is the successor to Alienware M15x, the now defunct 15-inch laptop option. Sitting between the tiny Alienware M11x and gargantuan M17x, the Alienware M14x offers gaming enthusiasts a middle ground that's easy to...

Alienware M14x Laptop Review

Over the past year or so we have taken a look at a number of Alienware systems from the 11" M11x to the M17xR3 with the M18x being the most recent model to be probed. There is however one model in the range that we have yet to review, the M14x which...

Alienware M14x Gaming Laptop Review

Asus' G73 series of notebooks and Alienware's M series, have been some of the most viewed pages of our mobile computing section here at HotHardware.com. Similarly, Dell's recent announcement that they were expanding the Alienware M series line, to...

Fast general purpose and gaming performance ; Killer good looks with custom lighting ; Rubberized coating feels sturdy and doesn't attract fingerprints ; Two USB 3.0 ports ; Gorgeous 1600X900 14" display, though a bit glossy ; Super-comfortable...

Fans get a bit noisy when gaming ; Pricey but you get what you pay for

Alienware designed the M14x with certain compromises that had to be accommodated. Obviously, this smaller form-factor of gaming notebook, in order to meet its thermal constraints, had to be configured with more midrange components. Performance-wise,...

The Alienware M14x has high-end performance in a compact and portable machine

High levels of performance ; Plenty of connectivity

Same exterior as last batch

Although the exterior is unchanged from the last model, Alienware's M14x has upgraded power and plenty of connectivity in a well built body.

Alienware M14x and M18x laptop review

Alienware sent T3 two of its powerful gaming laptops - the M14x and M18x. Not only were they specced out to the max, the laptops were also powerful enough to engineer a moon landing without breaking a sweat.

Incredible performance ; Comfortable gaming experience ; Stunning keyboard

We can't afford one ; Chunky and quirky design ; No Blu-ray drives as standard

If you have cash to burn and need a high-performance gaming portable, these new Alienwares won't disappoint. We prefer the M14x as it offers greater portability and value for money.
