Apple MacBook Pro 13-inch M1 review: The iPhone of laptops

The new MacBook Pro 13-inch features Apple's new M1 chip, making these laptops more like iPhones than traditional laptops.

M1 is insanely fast ; Beautiful display, as always ; Fantastic battery life ; Speakers sound brilliant ; Top-notch keyboard and trackpad

Only two Thunderbolt ports ; Touch Bar is still frustrating

Apple MacBook Pro 13-Inch (M1, Late 2020) Review

Long battery life ; Speedy performance from Apple M1 chip ; Brilliant Retina display ; Excellent build quality ; Comfortable keyboard and trackpad ; Improved webcam

Only two USB-C ports ; Stingy standard 256GB SSD, 8GB RAM ; No touch screen

Now powered by Apple’s M1 CPU, the 13-inch MacBook Pro remains a workhorse for those who want a compact macOS laptop that's still powerful enough to perform processor-intensive workflows.

MacBook Pro M1 review: Apple amazes with its first Silicon MacBook Pro Review | ZDNet

If you're looking for a fresh design, look elsewhere. But if you're looking for killer performance, long battery life and broad app support, you'll be hard-pressed to find fault with Apple's inaugural M1-based MacBook Pro.

Fast and powerful ; Long battery life ; All around app support ; Improve camera, despite still 720p

Some iPad apps need an update ; Same design will be tired for some ; Can get pricey with upgrade options ; Caps out at 16GB

MacBook Pro with M1 review

The MacBook Pro with M1 delivers a killer combo of blazing performance and epic battery life, even if the design is too familiar.

Superb performance ; Crazy long battery life ; Bright and colorful display ; Comfortable Magic Keyboard

Dated design ; Just two Thunderbolt ports

Overall, I really like the 13-inch MacBook Pro with M1 and it’s an excellent choice for power users. But I think for the vast majority of people the MacBook Air M1 is “Pro” enough for now.

Apple M1 MacBook Pro 13-inch review

Is the Apple M1 MacBook Pro 13-inch worth your money and does it have the power and performance you need?

M1 offers stunning performance ; Best battery life on a laptop ; Almost silent, even during more intensive tasks

Not the cheapest 13-inch laptop around ; Long-running design not all that exciting ; FaceTime camera is better, but still lacking

Apple’s new M1 chip brings transformative performance and huge battery life gains, on top of the lessons the tech giant has learned from its laptop range in recent years. It’s not cheap, but it’s a forward-thinking device that’s perfect for casual and...

13-Inch M1 MacBook Pro 2020 Review

Apple's new M1 MacBooks wipe the floor with Dell and HP ultrabooks.

Class-leading battery life ; Insane performance ; Premium build quality

Poor port selection

Performance, experience, and thermals are virtually the same on the two M1 MacBooks, although the MacBook Pro has a slight edge over the Air’s 13-hour battery life, and it has a touch bar. Are a touch bar and one more hour of battery life worth $300 to...

Apple M1 MacBook Pro Review: Enough to Tempt a PC Fan

Apple's new chip gives the MacBook Pro impressive processing power and battery life.

Lengthy battery life; you get more for your money compared to last-gen Intel versions; super cool and quiet

Lack of USB ports; lack of M1-optimized software; still not as competitive as some PC laptops

MacBook Pro 13-inch M1 review

Apple's new MacBook Pro 13-inch M1 has the same beautiful design but a formidable new ‘unified' M1 processor

Surprisingly useful Touch Bar ; Excellent Retina display ; Weight, size, design, keyboard…

16:10 screen, which annoys us for some reason ; No HDMI port or memory card slot

The MacBook Pro 13-inch M1 is not cheap for a laptop, obviously, but if you need a certain level of performance for your photo or video editing, then a cheap laptop is never going to provide it. In fact, this M1-powered MacBook gives you a very good...
