Apple MacBook Pro 2009 (2.66GHz review

Editors' note: As of June 2009, the product reviewed here has been replaced by an updated model .

New aluminum unibody construction comes to the 17-inch model; useful multitouch trackpad gestures; attractive edge-to-edge glass on display; dual graphics provide more power or more battery life.

All-clicking trackpad is a bit awkward; matte screen option costs extra; switching GPUs is not as seamless as it should be.

A little late to the party, Apple's redesigned 17-inch MacBook Pro joins the 15-inch model with a redesigned aluminum body, new trackpad with expanded functionality, and a dual-graphics setup for either longer battery life or better performance.

Review Apple MacBook Pro 17" Notebook (Aluminium Unibody, 17", 9600M GT, T9550)

Big, light, and beautiful Whilst a little late, Apple has finally

Workmanship; Design; Glass Trackpad; Good keyboard (for Mac Os X); Light (for 17")

Hot under heavy loads; Display is very reflective; Few connections; Poor Windows drivers

The performance in applications of the flat laptop is down to the fast Core 2 Duo T9550 and DDR 3 main memory. The graphical performance is however only mid-range for a DTR-notebook with the GeForce 9600M GT.

Apple MacBook Pro 17in, the grandaddy of Apple laptops reviewed

The design is impeccable, the build superb and the screen extraordinary, but the price is a huge barrier. We ponder the icon that is the Macbook Pro 17in

Shipping Issues

It's a great item- the computer runs very smoothly, just like I want it to, and I got everything I ordered in good shape. The shipping and upgrade problems were frustrating, but to be fair, customer service was very willing to work with me to sort...

Very clean computer. Works as the summary said it would. No scratches, no glitches

Shipping took a very long time. I called them during the delivery week to inform them I would be out of town and they STILL sent it back- to the other side of the country. They sent it back quickly, but the most recent update was also from nearly two...

Love this computer!

I love my macbook. It's great for all types of computer users. You may not want to pay the price for the bigger screen and more features but it's worth it. They last and I've never had any problems with it.

Great Design, Easy To Use, Fast

A little pricey
