Asus Chromebook C300 (C300MA-DB01)

The Asus Chromebook C300 is a low-cost laptop with a relatively large 13.3-inch screen and excellent battery life.

Large screen for a Chromebook. Large touchpad. Light weight. Almost 11 hours of battery life.

Shiny, cheap-looking plastic on sides. Screen resolution tops out at 1,366 by 768.

If you need all-day computing, and then some, with a larger display, the Asus Chromebook C300 is a top choice, provided you've got constant Internet access. If you absolutely need Windows programs and compatibility, the HP Stream 13, our Editors'...

Asus C300MA Chromebook Review

Basic and balanced… The 13.3-inch Chromebook from ASUS is now in our labs, and there's a lot to like for $219—provided you can deal with a few compromises. We break down all the relevant pros and cons in our full review.

Impossibly inexpensive, Bright screen with matte finish, Solid input devices, Excellent battery life, Cool, quiet operation, Better than expected speakers, Capable WLAN adapter, Good stability when resting on a flat surface

Limited memory and storage on the $219 configuration, Torsion resistance across the entire body is weak, Poor vertical viewing angles and color reproduction, Few opportunities for upgrades or maintenance, Faint CPU whine is detectable while operating,...

For the price, it’s hard to argue with the C300. In spite of its budget design, it’s decently constructed, and it feels good in the lap, never reaching uncomfortable temperatures. The input devices are acceptable and inoffensive at their worst....

Asus C300M review

A colourful Chromebook that balances price and performance

Great performance under pressure ; All-day battery life ; Bigger than the average Chromebook, but still light

Bright colours won't be for everyone (there is a black model, though) ; Display's viewing angle isn't ideal at times

With battery life that goes on and on, the Asus C300M is a lightweight laptop for people on the move. You'll need to be a big fan of bright colours though.

Asus C300M review

If the smaller screen sizes of most Chromebooks lack the kind of real estate you prefer, then the Asus C300M might be a more attractive option. Although its little brother (the C200) has a 'standard' 11.6in display, the C300 expands the vista to 13in,...

The C300 might not be as svelte or quick as many of its Chrome OS brethren, but the lightweight chassis makes it highly portable for those who prefer things a little larger on-screen. The colours won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, but for us it’s a...

Asus C300 Chromebook - the perfection of simple

How far has the whole Chromebook idea come in a year? Far enough to show that cloud computers represent an alternative and perfectly viable model of personal computing.

Conclusion: The Chromebook problem in the eyes of more traditional users seems to be that it’s similar enough to a Windows PC to invite comparisons but different enough to be misunderstood. It’s a laptop but there’s a twist. As with almost every other...

Asus C300M review

Breaking from the tradition of small-screened Chromebook, Asus has launched the C300M with a 13in screen and some bright colours. Here's our big brother compare to its smaller rivals?
