ASUS Chromebook Flip C302 review: King of the Chromebooks

 

The ASUS Chromebook Flip C302 does just about everything right -- battery, screen, keyboard and performance are all good to excellent. For less than $500, this is probably the best Chromebook on the market right now.

Comfortable keyboard and trackpad ; Good display ; Strong performance ; Thin, light and attractive design

Battery life could be better ; Android app compatibility is still in beta and could use a little work

The Asus C302CA is an advanced Chromebook with a 360-degree hinge, great display and battery life, and Android support.

Beautiful 1920x1080 display with 178-degree viewing angles ; Long 10-hour battery life ; Surprisingly good keyboard ; 360-degree hinge gives clamshell-to-tablet versatility

Display's middle setting is dark, necessitating high setting for most use

Asus Chromebook Flip is a small laptop with big value

 

The Asus Chromebook Flip C302CA is an affordable and compact 2-in-1 that works with Android apps, too.

The Asus Chromebook Flip C302CA has a 360-degree hinge, a backlit keyboard, two USB-C ports, a sharp display and a posh all-aluminum build. Supports Google Play Android apps.

The USB-C ports don't support Thunderbolt 3.

With a hybrid hinge, touchscreen and support for Google Play apps, the Asus Chromebook Flip is a small Chromebook offering big value.

Asus Chromebook Flip (C302CA-DHM4)

 

The Asus Chromebook Flip (C302CA-DHM4) might be more expensive than the average chromebook, but its rich selection of features makes it well worth the extra money.

Convertible hinge design. Lots of storage and RAM. Full HD screen. Metal body construction. Two USB-C ports. Warranty includes damage protection. Bright and clear display. Backlit keyboard.

Legacy connections require adapters. Pricier than other chromebooks.

The Asus Chromebook Flip (C302CA-DHM4) is appealing if you want (quite) a bit more than a run-of-the-mill chromebook, and are willing to pay for it. It's still priced in line with entry-level Windows laptops. For example, the 11-inch Lenovo Yoga 710...

The is a great Chromebook, but it loses out to the similarly priced . If you can find the on sale, or really want something with more than the standard 32GB of internal storage, the is a good choice.
