Compaq Presario C500T Review

 

The total price was $400 for the notebook plus $35 (after rebate) for the 1GB stick of Crucial Memory. And Californian Tax

Pretty basic notebook for a nicly non-basic price ; Nice features for a budget notebook: wireless button, volume buttons, glossy sharp screen, brand name speakers ; The screen looks very nice, compared to the LCD monitors I have at home

Should have came with more than 512MB RAM ; MS Office 2007 was the ultimate annoying bloatware ; Screen Ripple ; Viewing angle inferior in my opinion

I would like to thank Compaq for placing the "Ctrl" key where it should be placed -- in the bottom left hand corner. The keyboard feels thin, it flexes everywhere, but mostly in the middle. However, I don't know what the big deal about keyboard flexing...

A good value laptop that outperforms many other notebooks at the same price -- the only feature missing is a DVD burner.

Excellent performance for the price ; Decent 15.4" screen ; Ports within easy reach

No DVD burner ; Flimsy keyboard

Conclusion At $999, this laptop is definitely good value. Features are reasonable, but a DVD burner would be a good addition to the package. Its performance is better than many other budget laptops we've tested in the past and overall it is a solid...

I thought this was a horrible computer, which it is if you don't get the extra 2GB of ram, now the laptop can now run vista and chat without crashing. It's an extra 80 bucks if you go to frys. Now I love this computer. n.n

i bought mine at a local pawn shop and so far its been running great, except for having to order a charger. its still bone stock, but i do plan to upgrade. so for 300 its a nice machine for my first laptop.

The battery life of this is really bad. Even on the power saver setting it drains in almost no time at all. After a couple of months the cord of the adapter started to fray and the wires inside weren't connecting. I ordered a new one and then months...
