Dell Inspiron 15 (1564)

I like a lot of Dell's newer laptops, and I had hoped to like the company's newly Core i5-enhanced Inspiron 15 (1564 variant). This model has a lush widescreen and isn't too big, and the glossy shell looks nearly as good as the Apple aesthetic it apes....

Great big widescreen to work on ; Power to spare for most tasks

Missing video connections ; Offset keyboard with a too-small number pad

There's no denying that the 1564 has a lot of power--but with so few ports on this laptop, how are you going to make use of it?

Dell Inspiron 15 Review

The Dell Inspiron 15 has average build quality compared to other value-oriented models we have reviewed. The plastics used held up well in our tests, but did show signs of flexing and creaking in spots. The screen lid and palmrest were the two main...

Good looks ; Easy to upgrade all components ; Good cooling system ; Great touchpad buttons

Screen lid doesn't stay closed with the notebook held vertically ; Battery life could be better

All of the 3DMark06 scores for all of the systems listed above were run at 1280 x 800 (for screens with a 16:10 ratio) or 1280 x 768 resolution (for screens with 16:9)

Dell Inspiron 15 3593 review – Core i7-1065G7 on the budget

There is another daily driver in our office. This time it is the Dell Inspiron 15 3593, which is nothing emphatic at first glance. It has a dated design, plastic shell and huge bezels around its di…

Comfortable keyboard;Generous I/O;Supports M.2 PCIe x4 drives;Features the latest Ice Lake CPUs from Intel;Doesn’t use aggressive PWM;It is equipped with an SD card reader

Not the best build quality (uses only plastic);Weak chassis;TN panel with poor viewing angles, low maximum brightness and mediocre contrast ratio;Covers only 50% of sRGB;Overpriced in our view

Dell Inspiron 15 review

This outstanding general purpose laptop provides plenty of processor power and battery life for a surprisingly low price

Overall, the new Inspiron 15 looks like it's a great value laptop, but the £399 Best Buy-winning Asus X552CL trumps this current configuration on both processing speed and graphics power. The Dell has much better battery life, though, lasting around...

Dell Inspiron 15-1564 review

The Dell Inspiron 15 has undergone some significant facelifts, as a result it looks much better than the older Inspiron 15. Gone is the drab, lacklustre design of the past - the new Inspiron 15 sports a more polished, refined look. You have five glossy...

The new Dell Inspiron 15 sports significant improvements over the older model, both in terms of look and feel and overall performance. It may not have every feature in the bag, but for a price tag of £398, we think it has a pretty good blend of style...

Dell Inspiron 15

Excellent battery life ; Core 2 Duo processor for under $1000

100Mbit Ethernet only ; 802.11g only, no Bluetooth, although you can upgrade both for extra cash ; No numpad

The Dell Inspiron 15 is likely the best bang for buck you'll get for AU$1000, from its battery life to its upgrade options. We do miss the numpad, but the rest is perfect for the budget-conscious user.

Dell Inspiron 15

Dell gets it right with this entry level laptop, the Inspiron 15, which strikes a very good balance between price and performance.

Glossy black looks ; Good keyboard ; Good overall performance

Glossy design attracts dust, fingerprints

The Inspiron 15 is a very good balance between price and performance, and also the most inexpensive at Rs. 33,899. What's more, Dell's website lets you pick and choose the Inspiron 15's configuration before placing an order.

Dell Inspiron 15-1564

Combining good looks, sleek performance and a price that screams “good value”, the Dell Inspiron 15-1564 is an excellent shout for those of you on the hunt for an entry-level notebook with plenty of decent features to get stuck into.

There aren’t many notebooks for the entry-level market that offer such a high level of performance as the Dell Inspiron 1564. The reputation is slightly tarnished by a very basic level of connectivity, but if you plan to use the 1564 mainly at home,...

Dell Inspiron 15-1564 review

The new Dell Inspiron 15 is a 15.6in value for money all-purpose budget laptop. The Dell Inspiron 15-1564 we tested is based on Intel's "Arrandale" Core i3 processor, has a full-sized keyboard, good looks and overall performance.

The new Dell Inspiron 15 sports significant improvements over the older model, both in terms of look and feel and overall performance. It may not have every feature in the bag, but for a price tag of £398, we think it has a pretty good blend of style...

Dell Inspiron 15 Laptop
