Review Dell Latitude E6430s Notebook

Fast Business. The Latitude E6430s offers nearly the same dimensi

Solid magnesium alloy build quality; Backlit keyboard with excellent feedback; Powerful CPU and GPU performance; Easily upgradeable; Good battery life; Docking port and Modulay bay expandability; Quiet fan during light use

Thick and heavy; Loud fan under medium to heavy use; Screen could have been brighter for improved outdoor usability; Loud keyboard; No higher display resolution options; Battery life not improved over original Latitude E6330; No latch/magnet for closed...

Aside from a very small hit to battery life, nothing else was sacrificed in the 14-inch upgrade. The excellent Turbo Boost potential in another great plus for performance-hunters seeking the most from their systems.

Unsnappily-named lightweight workhorse

Dell Latitude E6430s review

Dell's Latitude E6430s is a mid-range laptop designed for life as a corporate workhorse, and is claimed to fit a 14in display into a 13in-size chassis, making it about 18 percent lighter than other systems with comparable screens.

Rugged construction, large 14in display in 13in chassis, optical drive option

Heavy for its size, battery life unexceptional, no 3G broadband option

The Latitude E6430s is a sturdy mid-range laptop offering a good mix of capabilities for mobile workers. However, the battery life is unimpressive and this model puzzlingly lacks even the option of 3G broadband capability.

Good computers, but had problems getting fully functional systems

I have purchased dozens of refurbished Dell computers over the last few years, and I will continue to do so. Some systems look like new and others show signs of use. No problem; I can live with minor scratches and dents provided everything works....

The E6430s is a good combination of size, weight and power. Dell has decent hardware, support and documentation.

One of the first two refurbished E6430s I purchased for my kids had a very weak battery that needed to be replaced right away. The third E6430s I purchased for business had a defective DVD drive. I could not eject the tray without a paper clip and it...
