Dell XPS 13 (Skylake) review

Dell's XPS 13 is the best 13-inch notebook available today.

Dell’s XPS 13 is an excellent piece of engineering that combines the latest Intel hardware with a robust, attractive and portable chassis.

Dell XPS 13 review (2015): Meet the world's smallest 13-inch laptop

CES has come and gone; the holidays are long past; and now all we're left with are a few months of dreary weather. No fun, right? Right. Except if you're

Nearly bezel-less display allows it to be more compact than other 13-inchers ; Vibrant screen, strong audio to match ; Attractive design, well-built ; Comfortable keyboard ; Fast performance ; Lots of configuration options

Merely average battery life, at least on the touchscreen model ; Touchpad could use some fine-tuning ; Doesn't come standard with a touchscreen -- and is expensive if you do opt for that feature

Other than an update to the touchpad, there's very little we would change about Dell's redesigned XPS 13: It's compact and well-built, with a gorgeous screen, fast performance and surprisingly good audio quality. You'll pay dearly to get it with a...

Dell XPS 13 review: The best Windows laptop just got better

I've been searching for the perfect Windows laptop ever since Windows 8 was released, three years ago. For much of that time, I reluctantly opted for the MacBook Air simply because there weren't...

Great display with no bezels ; Sleek and compact design ; Speedy performance

Awkward webcam ; Battery life could be better ; No DisplayPort

Dell XPS 13 review: Drop the high-end display for better battery life

The design on this less expensive version of the XPS 13 isn't as slick, but battery life gets a big boost.

Dell's revamped XPS 13 has a nearly borderless display, a very small body for a 13-inch laptop and the latest Intel CPUs. Battery life in this lower-end configuration gets a big boost.

Dropping the higher-resolution screen and edge-to-edge glass overlay means the look is not as slick, and losing touch makes Windows 8 harder to use.

Taking a second look at the new XPS 13, this lower-end version costs less and has better battery life, but isn't as tightly designed.

Review: Dell XPS 13

With its XPS 13 laptop, Dell didn't screw with the formula. It just executed the formula really well. Then it picked a couple of spots to really swing for the fences.

Ridiculously beautiful display. Makes all bezels everywhere look huge and pointless. A 13-inch laptop in the body of an 11-inch laptop. Dell didn't try to do anything insane, it just did everything well

The webcam is always looking up my nose. Battery life could be better. You want to play games on this screen, but you shouldn't even try. Trackpad is finicky until you tweak its settings

Dell XPS 13 review: MacBook Air fanboys, look no further for your rumored unicorn

Dell's new ultralight has all the industrial-design panache of a MacBook Air, but with a larger display. Oh, and it's a proper PC.

Large screen in small real estate ; QHD+ resolution screen ; Entry-level model is $800

Compressed keyboard ; Weird placement for camera

Dell's XPS13 shoehorns a 13.3-inch monitor into the body of an 11-inch laptop.

Dell XPS 13 (2015) review

It takes a lot to move the needle on laptop design. Hybrids have proved inventive over the past few years, with Yoga-style systems and the slick Surface Pro line redefining what a portable PC can look like. But for clamshells that don't swivel or...

Dell's revamped XPS 13 has a nearly borderless display and a very small body for a 13-inch laptop, plus the latest Intel CPUs.

Upgrades can get expensive; a touchscreen isn't included by default; the boost from the new CPU is minimal.

This new Dell XPS 13 is the first great laptop of 2015, but it owes that title more to a smart design revamp than Intel's new processors.
