Dell XPS 15z review

For years, Dell's been teasing supermodel-thin laptops, each one flawed out of the gate: too pricey, too underpowered, and with underwhelming battery life. T...

Dell XPS 15z: Attractively Built, Attractively Priced Laptop

The obvious comparison for Dell's new XPS 15z (the first in a line of z-series XPS systems) isn't another Windows-based PC, it's a 15-inch MacBook Pro. In fact, the overall look and feel of the system are close enough to those of Apple's iconic laptop...

Speedy, modern hardware and features ; Sleek, sturdy design

GPU is a bit limited at the high price range ; Splendid Color" oversaturates the display

If every Dell laptop were this good in both build and design, the company's reputation among consumers would be completely restored.

Dell XPS 15z review: Dell XPS 15z

Dell XPS 15z

The new ; is extremely thin for a midsize laptop, and includes a powerful CPU and midrange GPU, along with a 1080p display and backlit keyboard.

It's still not thinner than the 15-inch MacBook Pro, and in our high-end $1,500 configuration, we'd expect longer battery life and a better GPU.

Claiming to be the world's thinnest Windows laptop, the Dell XPS 15z is a sharp-looking package with upgradable high-end features and a reasonable $999 starting price.

Dell XPS 15z

The Dell XPS 15z is a thin, powerful, and well-priced desktop replacement laptop that won't cost you as much as the Apple MacBook Pro 15-inch.

Less than one inch thick. Gorgeous aluminum design. Best-in-class screen. Great keyboard. backlights. Lightweight. Reasonably priced. Very good performance scores. Coast-to-coast battery life. Can hold its own as a gaming laptop. Nvidia Optimus present.

Fans are kind of loud.

Dell XPS 15z (Microsoft)

Physically, every inch of this 15z from the Microsoft Store is the same as if you had bought it from Dell's website; even the base price is identical. One of the benefits of buying from Microsoft is that it strips most of the third-party and...

Strong performance, battery life. Aggressively priced. Thin, lightweight profile. Gorgeous design

Unremarkable display resolution

The XPS 15z (Microsoft) is available from Microsoft's Store and every bit as luxurious as the Apple MacBook Pro 15-inch, but it won't cost you nearly as much.

Dell XPS 15z Review: A MacBook Alternative?

The Dell XPS 15z has an ultra-thin metal chassis, a beautiful 1080p display and a backlit keyboard. Add to that an Intel Core i7 processor and Nvidia GeForce dedicated graphics for serious multimedia performance. Is this a worthy competitor to the...

Nice design and quality ; Beautiful 1080p screen ; 6+ hour battery life

Not-so-great keyboard ; Hard to upgrade ; The XPS 15z makes an impressive alternative to a 15-inch MacBook Pro if you can live with a less-than-perfect keyboard.

Review Dell XPS 15z Notebook

The good years are past. Dell has put its XPS range on a diet and re-places the result as the XPS z-series. You wouldn't quite believe that it is a successor of the exclusive Adamo, which was considered to be an opponent of the MacBook Air at the time....

Successful design; High-end materials; Good connectivity and positioning; Good display brightness and contrast; Solid performance reserves; Good battery life

Loud hard disk; High temperatures and noise during load; Moderate speaker quality ; Irremovably built-in battery

If Dell didn't translate it this way, you would never, ever conclude that the XPS 15z is even somehow related to the Dell Adamo XPS

Dell XPS 15z Review: Kinda Luxurious
