Digital Storm Krypton offers the same parts and design as other gaming laptops, for less

This is a massive 17-inch gaming laptop that's nearly a clone of other, more expensive, systems.

The Digital Storm Krypton offers the latest Intel and Nvidia components, and excellent benchmark performance, for a bit less than other gaming PC brands.

You don't get the same level of hand-holding and personalized tech support as from some other gaming boutiques. The generic off-the-shelf body is ugly, no matter the price. No touch or higher-res screen options.

The bulky, dated body of the Digital Storm Krypton doesn't feel particularly high-end, but it's great at running games at high detail settings, and can be configured to provide excellent bang for your buck.

This relatively affordable 17-inch gaming portable will rock your virtual worlds.

Terrific price for a high-end portable gamer ; Blazes through games and work, too ; Very good audio subsystem ; Easy DIY upgrades

Big and heavy; could be sturdier ; Slow tech support ; Restrictive return policy

Digital Storm’s 17-inch gaming portable is big, heavy, and no-frills; but it’ll rock your virtual worlds at a great price.

Digital Storm Krypton

The Digital Storm Krypton is a midrange gaming laptop that leverages the latest Nvidia and Intel hardware to deliver top-notch performance.

Excellent performance. Packs Nvidia's latest mobile graphics card. Generous port selection. High-quality sound with amplification for headphones.

FireWire 800 port protrudes slightly. Generic design with plastic construction.

Conclusion With its potent processing and graphics performance, the Digital Storm Krypton offers a lot for its midrange price, even competing against high-end systems. While paying more will get you things like improved design and construction, or a...

Review: Digital Storm Krypton

The Krypton from Digital Storm is a solid—if largely nondescript—choice for a high-test gaming laptop.

Seems expensive, but it’s actually a decent deal in the highest strata of gaming laptops. Great performance, with minimal trouble along the way

Not quite on the bleeding edge, but hey, you can always upgrade. One bad drop feels like it will demolish this thing

Digital Storm Krypton review

Seeing the 17-inch Digital Storm Krypton gaming laptop might elicit a sense of deja vu. It's understandable, as this system is built into the exact same chassis as the Origin Eon17-S we reviewed recently.
