ASUS Eee PC T101MT review

A really good netvertible -- that's all we want. No, not just a netbook with a touchscreen, but a device with a combination of solid ergonomics and performance...

ASUS T101MT gets the quick and dirty video review treatment

We've already witnessed ASUS' netvertible undergo some hands-on testing, but the units inspected up until now have all been pre-production devices. Well, final...

Asus - Eee PC T101MT

Netbooks are all about low price tags and portability. Incorporating a weight-inducing touchscreen into one and slapping a £450 price tag on it might, therefore, seem like an odd decision. However, that hasn't stopped netbook-pioneer Asus ...

If you think you'll make use of the touchscreen display, the Eee PC T101MT is worth taking a look at. However, you really do need to make good use of it to justify the rather high price tag. If you can live without a touchscreen, there are cheaper...

Be mindful of the Specs

I would agree with another of the reviewers that as a student with a low to modest budget looking for a versatile mobile computing device, the ASUS Eee PC T101MT would fill the bill very nicely.

The draw for units like these is the fact they are part laptop, and part tablet. We purchased 32 for student classroom use and expect the ability to function as either to better suit the personal learning style of students ; We like this machine for...

Windows 7 Starter??? Really? Who could possibly use it with that loaded? When the units were ordered, we also ordered licenses to upgrade to Win 7 pro, and add another gig of RAM ; This is where the title of this review comes in to play. Be very...

Very Helpful...

I despise that Asus won't just send me the stub(in cons)replacements, the only way I can get it replaced is by RMAing it like they said... and I think the only time I have for that is in the summer... since I use it for school... can't miss a day...

I like the resistive touch screen, which I use mainly for taking notes, and the functionality of a netbook

Win 7 starter- Just upgrade it like I did! :D ; 1Gb Ram- have an old DDr2 stick from a separate laptop? Shove that 1 Gber in there and you've got yourself 2 Gbs! :D ; The Rubber stubs came off quickly since I dropped it... but its fully functioning

Bad touch screen - stay away

Just purely amazed that touch screen failed on the second day. Stay away from this laptop by all means, it doesn't meet the standard nowadays Get fujitsu tablet or something, cost a bit extra but they have real engineering factory that guarantee quality

small, but that's it

same 1/2" issue where bottom 1/2" of the screen wouldn't respond. Why is Asus selling this product? How does this meet their quality bar? This occurs on the second I used this. Haven't been able to fix it (eg, reinstalling OS). Seems like a design...

Not much to complain about

I purchased this with the knowledge that I would install ubuntu on this without ever booting into windows. I did have the misfortune of booting into windows 7 by accident and it was a horrible bloated mess due to the third part software. Nothing...

Extremely portable, with the screen folded down even more-so ; Dual core, hyperthreaded processor offers amazing performance for a netbook ; Very responsive touchscreen that feels like a capacitive for daily browsing ; Chiclet keyboard ; Battery life ;...

Weight ; This is the only thing I am taking an egg off for, from reading the weight specifications I didn't think it would be that bad. But you simply can not hold it with your wrist, it will get exhausted in a minute. Cradling it in your arm, or...

Consumer review (newegg.com)

Meh.

Its really heavy, which when combined with the extremely clumsy Windows 7 desktop, makes this a sub-par tablet. However, when sitting clam shell style, its perfectly fine. 1080p flash video is a no-go and 720p is hit/miss (although downloaded HD...

Net book/tablet hybrid ; Decent overall performance (see cons) ; Good battery life ; Great as a netbook ; Solid build quality ; Good screen size for a netbook ; Touchscreen works great

Hit/miss video performance (see other thoughts) ; Mediocre performance, out of the box ; Windows 7 is not ready for tablets ; Heavy ; The touchpad mouse is aweful (not the touchscreen, the mouse by the keyboard)...Almost unusable half the time ;...

Plauged with screen issues

I cannot recommend this model based on the failure rate of the touch screen.

Small convertible netbook

Order 5 of these, in less than a month 2 of them have failed with the same 1/2" touch screen issue that the previous reviewer mentioned. The bottom of the screen where the Windows task bar is does not respond to touch. Newegg was great to swap the...
