Lively high-end gameplay ; Room for boatloads of RAM and storage ; Decent array of ports

Lower frame rates than top competitors ; Full performance requires noisy cooling mode ; Lackluster display and battery life ; Unremarkable build quality for the price

The HP Omen 16 is a just-fine gaming laptop with speedy performance, but our test configuration does little to set itself apart from the field, considering the steep price.
