HP Pavilion 17 FHD V3A33AV Notebook Review

Loud gamer. It's got the looks of a multimedia notebook and the GPU of a gaming machine. While versatile, the system runs much louder than your standard Ultrabook even during low loads.

bright display; good colors without calibration ; M.2 and 2.5-inch SATA III storage options ; good battery life; Optimus support ; fast CPU and GPU performances ; removable battery ; optical drive

no G-Sync, Macro keys, USB Type-C, DisplayPort, NVMe, or Thunderbolt 3 ; display lid could have been more rigid ; poor touchpad; small Arrow keys ; user-unfriendly serviceability ; loud fan noise

The latest Pavilion 17 walks a fine line between being a multimedia notebook and a gaming notebook. It's more powerful than what its modest plastic design would otherwise suggest and is relatively portable considering its screen size. This makes the...

Review HP Pavilion 17-e054sg Notebook

Bargain-buy quad-core. A well-rounded notebook for under 600 Euros (~$815) - that's what the Pavilion 17 offers. A quad-core processor and a dual graphics card supposedly ensure optimal performance. Our review reveals whether this setup really does its...

HP Pavilion 17 (17-ab300) review – fairly priced 17-inch all-rounder

More than a year ago we showed you a device, that could challenge larger, more expensive devices in the gaming segment, thanks to its competitive hardware and low price. A year and a half later not…

Low external temperatures during high loads;IPS display with a nice contrast;Reasonable price for the decent hardware;Good battery life for the performance it offers

Plastic design with some bend when moving;Lack of a keyboard backlight; Not a huge improvement over last years’ model

HP Pavilion 17 review

  (Rating Hidden)

The HP Pavilion series may not be the manufacturer's marquee family of laptops. But judging from its Pavilion 17, HP clearly understands that 17-inch laptops need enough power to run as smoothly as traditional powerhouse desktop PCs. But is it also...

Does what I need it to do

I needed a great web surfer and also something that wouldn't shy away from games as I sometimes play World of Tanks with my son. The laptop does everything I need it to do with ease. I like it so much that I am buying a second one for my wife.

Fast. Windows 8.1

Nothing yet in 8 months of ownership

I would honestly spend a couple hundred extra and get something that's better quality, if I could do it over again would've gone that route. This computer is not a bad buy if the price stays below $500 but wouldn't pay more than that for it.

It was a cheap buy at under $500

Cheap construction, mouse pad difficult to use(recommend getting a mouse), very loud(make sure to turn the setting to 'power saver' seems to help

Refirb HP Pavilion 17-e049wm

The computer is a great machine. I got it when it was $439 and it was definitely a great deal, but yeah, if you get past windows 8.1 its a fantastic machine.

The computer came as expected, started fast, and so far hasn't slowed down. I bought this to be a school and casual gaming computer, and I actually got more than I expected in terms of gaming. I play lots of Source games (TF2, GMOD, Portal, etc.), and...

Though it came with windows 8.1 installed already, I'm very unhappy with it. Its a fairly lousy OS, and when I get an extra cash for an external hard drive I'm gonna wipe this drive and install windows 7 so I can have a decent OS again. 8.1 is still...

Laptop is dead

Decently fast, was able to handle any game on low graphics, many games higher than that

It is dead. It won't turn on, even with the charger plugged in. I purchased the warranty, so I am using that. If you are dead set on buying this, make sure you get the warranty or you will be out of luck and very angry. Would NOT buy again
