HP Stream 11 review: a $200 Windows laptop meant to be a Chromebook killer

It's no secret that people like Chromebooks. That can't be good news for Microsoft, which used to own the market for cheap computers. Not one to take thi

Low price ; Bright, playful design ; Comfortable keyboard ; 25 Windows Store gift card included ; Includes 1TB of cloud storage and a one-year Office 365 subscription

So-so display ; Slow boot-up times ; Touchpad could use some fine-tuning

At $200, the Stream 11 is a good deal, especially compared to pricier Chromebooks, but beware that it comes with many of the same trade-offs as other budget laptops, including a low-quality display and slow boot-up time.

HP Stream 11 review: meet the next generation of cheap laptops

Netbooks were actually a great idea. When you boil it all the way down, it's simple: build a computer that does all the things an average user needs and doesn't try to do anything else, and sell...

More capable than almost any other $200 laptop ; Free Office for a year ; Well-built for a cheap laptop ; It's so cheap!

Mediocre display ; Poor trackpad ; Can't always keep up with heavy use

HP Stream 11 Review: A New Take On Low Cost Computing

The low cost Windows laptop world has been a rather frustrating experience over the last several years. Manufacturers created big, bulky designs packed with low resolution TN displays and some of the slowest components they could dig up. We are still...

What HP has brought to the table though is a device which has decent performance, a good keyboard, and a great color to compliment the design. It is all plastic, but with a great matte finish. Small, light, and reasonable battery life makes this reset...

HP Stream 11 X360 with 3G Convertible Notebook Review

Connected EU traveller. The HP 11 X360 is an entry-level 2-in-1 with a 3G roaming data bundle that could suit many European travellers. With a touchscreen and a solid build this bold laptop might be the perfect buddy for your ticket.

Great build quality, Good value, Useful 3G data bundle

Relatively heavy 11.6-inch laptop, Weak screen

HP Stream 11 Review: When entry-level computing isn't so bad

With Chromebooks slowly creeping into the low-end notebook space, Microsoft has positioned itself to combat this entry-level threat with the likes of the HP Stream 11 - but is it any good?

A few years ago, when you bought a netbook, you had to make many sacrifices to achieve the low price point of those devices. When we look at what HP is doing today, corners are still being cut, but the cuts are not quite as deep.

HP Stream 11 Review: $200 and Worth Every Penny

I just got finished rounding up the best Chromebooks out there, but there's more to the world of dirt-cheap computing than Google's browser-machines. The HP Stream is a $200 full-Windows laptop, and it's surprisingly good.

HP Stream 11 Review and Ratings

The $199 HP Stream 11 is a surprisingly successful Windows alternative to a Chromebook for mostly cloud-based computing.

Low price includes one year of Office 365 Personal and 1TB of cloud space ; Full-sized keyboard ; USB 3.0 and HDMI ports

Cheap screen ; Subsequent years cost $70 each ; 15GB of free storage requires deft disk housekeeping

The Stream 11 scored one important victory, lasting more than nine hours in our grueling battery rundown test (playing a video with brightness at 50 percent and audio volume at 100 percent). Its all-day battery life makes it a good choice for students...

HP Stream 11 laptop

This small and inexpensive laptop looks good and feels god to use, but don't expect blazing speed

Good size and good looks ; Comfortable keyboard ; Non-glossy screen

Screen looks a little dull ; Performance sometimes sluggish

HP Stream 11 Review | Trusted Reviews

A Windows laptop for just £179.99 that isn't totally rubbish.

Exceptional value for money ; Excellent battery life ; Eye-catching design ; Bundled with Office 365 Personal

Unspectacular HD display ; Slightly iffy touchpad

An 11-inch laptop that's incredible value for money
