Lenovo B50-70 MCC2GGE Notebook Review

Low-cost Office. Lenovo charges just under 350 Euro for a Core i3 notebook with Windows 8.1. Those looking for an inexpensive computer for home use, can hardly go wrong with this computer - despite several weaknesses (dark display, poor battery life,...

matte display ; usually works quietly ; does hardly get warmer ; low price ; maintenance hatch

dark, low-contrast screen ; poor battery life ; only 12 month warranty

The Lenovo B50-70 is a 15.6 inch office notebook. It brings sufficient CPU performance for office and internet applications. The computer works quietly most of the time and does hardly get warmer. Thanks to a 500 GB hard drive, you won't run out of...

Lenovo B50-70 Notebook Review Update

No endurance. Lenovo sees its B50-70 destined to be a workhorse. A matte Full HD screen, powerful Core i5 processor, and a high-capacity hard drive let buyers prick up their ears in this direction. However, the laptop exhibits shortcomings in keyboard...

Matte Full HD screen, Mostly quiet operation, Low temperature development, Maintenance cover, High-capacity storage

Dark, low-contrast screen, 12-month warranty, Poor battery life

Lenovo's B50-70 would actually have what it takes for a work machine on the desk at home or in the office. It offers a good portion of application performance, usually runs quietly, and it barely heats up. The high-capacity storage and easy maintenance...

Ok for a cheap laptop

I use this laptop for work in software development. It's light so I can take it to other places. It has enough resources to handle programs I need, but can't run too many things at the same time

The wireless adapter doesn't work

Excellent Choice!

Very happy with this notebook.

Lightweight, matte finish screen, keyboard is nice and "clicky" (btw if this matters to you, you'll know what I mean), number keypad, reasonable price point

I haven't found any yet

Worth it

As for the "flimsy" optical drive, this is customary for many laptops I have seen at all price ranges. I actually like how featherweight it is. Just be careful if you tend to hulk out, this beauty is delicate.

Windows 7! Very thin when shut (<1"), large HD, USB 3, HDMI, and a size that was not too big or small. I had a 17" before and it was a pain to carry around in a backpack, assuming it would fit, but this is about the perfect size in my opinion

Really the only thing that annoyed me was a smaller than usual shift key on the right below Enter. I'm particular about keyboards though, not a big deal

Lenovo B50-70 (59422998)

I am pleased with this laptop and would recommend it for anyone that is looking for a good Windows 7 laptop at a good price. It is not ultra high performance, but then it doesn't cost $1000 either.

Overall good performance for the price. Love that it has Windows 7 preloaded on it! Had a good quality Western Digital hard drive installed but I swapped out for a Samsung SSD. This laptop performs very well now! Can't say how it does with video games...

Arrived with the keyboard not pushed all the way down on the left side. Don't know if this happened in shipping (box looked fine) or from the manufacturer. Snapped back into place and has worked fine. Design of the laptop makes it hard to see status...

Good value for your dollar

I have deployed about 10 of these so far at my company and haven't had any issues. I replaced the standard hard drives with Samsung 850 pro SSDs. This seems to be a good setup for employees that will be travelling and may be prone to bumping or...

Price ; Screen size ; Accessibility of case (easy to swap out parts if needed) ; Extra memory slot to increase RAM

Can be slowed down if running a lot of applications at once but that's to be expected
