Lenovo Legion Y530: Shortlist this entry-level gaming laptop

While its insides match the competition's, the Y530's unique workstation-like design helps make this budget-friendly gamer one to strongly consider.

The Lenovo Legion Y530's delivers on entry-level gaming performance and has a useful design that makes it as good for travel as it is on a desk hooked up to a monitor, keyboard and mouse.

Display is somewhat dim with dull color. Keyboard might be a little too soft for some. Webcam is below the display.

As entry-level gaming laptops go the Lenovo Legion Y530 offers one of the best mixes of performance and design you're going to find at the moment.

Lenovo Legion Y530

Lenovo's Legion Y530 tops today's class of budget gaming laptops with a sleek, distinctive build, alongside solid performance and a full feature set.

Aggressive price. Slim, sturdy build is nice for the money. No garish gamer aesthetic. Super-slim bezels. HD gaming capable. Above-average keyboard.

GTX 1050's performance ceiling with demanding games is limited. Smallish 256GB SSD in this model.

Bottom Line: Lenovo's Legion Y530 tops today's class of budget gaming laptops with a sleek, distinctive build, alongside solid performance and a full feature set.

Lenovo Legion Y530 (i7-8750H, GTX1060) Laptop Review

Makes a lot of wind. The Lenovo Legion Y530 does not waste much time with questions about the design, but delivers a lot of performance for an affordable price instead. After the review of the GTX 1050 Ti SKU, we now have a look at the model with the...

very high system performance ; very high gaming performance ; good cooling solution ; good maintenance options ; robust chassis

short battery runtime ; high black value ; loud fan noise

The Lenovo Legion Y530 is a powerful gaming laptop in every configuration, which can utilize the power of its components very well and therefore, the results in the synthetic benchmarks and gaming tests are very good. The display produces nice pictures...

Lenovo Legion Y530 Review: An Adult Gaming Laptop with a Dull Display

Finally, a gaming laptop for adults. The Lenovo Legion Y530 ($749.99 to start, $949.99 as tested), isn't the most extravagant machine. It doesn't scream “gamer,” but with its Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti, it can still play most games at decent settings....

The Lenovo Legion is a gaming laptop with looks for adults, but its soft keyboard and dull display are disappointing.

LENOVO Legion Y530 15.6" Intel® Core™ i5 GTX 1050 Gaming Laptop - 1 TB HDD & 128 GB SSD

For the price, this is an excellent gaming laptop. Don't expect to play the latest AAA games on ultra at 60fps, but you will run them at lower settings. I'm playing assassin's creed odyssey on high settings and limiting fps to 30 and the experience is...

LENOVO Legion Y530 15.6" Intel® Core™ i5 GTX 1050 Gaming Laptop - 1 TB HDD & 128 GB SSD

Great laptop for the price with a good design that doesn't scream "I'm a gaming laptop" to everybody around you. Laptop has a great looking screen and can run any game out today, albeit with lower graphical settings

Battery life is only around 3-4 hours when editing word documents and doing basic browsing for College work so you may need to tie yourself near an outlet once in a while. Fans aren't too loud but you do notice them and the CPU thermal throttles just a...
