With its updated components, new privacy features and updated aluminum chassis, the X1 Yoga keeps its crown as a top business 2-in-1.

With its updated components, new privacy features and updated aluminum chassis, the X1 Yoga keeps its crown as a top business 2-in-1.

The fourth-gen Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga continues to be one of the best two-in-one convertibles for business thanks to an abundance of hardware options and security features all wrapped up in a thinner, lighter aluminum frame.

Only one of the four display options has Lenovo's screen privacy feature, and battery life is predictably shorter with the UHD-resolution display.

With its updated components, new privacy options and updated aluminum chassis, the ThinkPad X1 Yoga keeps its crown as a top business 2-in-1.

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga Gen 4 (2019)

Lenovo's latest ThinkPad X1 Yoga convertible laptop is fine-tuned for on-the-go businesspeople, offering ThinkPad reliability and a 4K screen in a much slimmer, lighter package.

Bright, brilliant 4K display with HDR support. Sturdy build quality. Thin and light design. Built-in stylus.

Occasional fan noise. Humdrum battery life in our 4K-screen model. Uncomfortable touchpad.

Bottom Line: Lenovo's latest ThinkPad X1 Yoga convertible laptop is fine-tuned for on-the-go businesspeople, offering ThinkPad reliability and a 4K screen in a much slimmer, lighter package.

Review: Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga (2019)

Joining the 7th-generation ThinkPad X1 Carbon is Lenovo's 4th-generation ThinkPad X1 Yoga, the flexible model in its X1 product family. As its name suggests, the X1 Yoga features a 360-degree hinge, enabling users to fold the display back, including...

Slim, lightweight aluminum build with Iron Gray color ; New bright UHD HDR display option ; Anti-fry tech and rapid charging ; Built-in pen and 360-degree flexible hinge ; Dolby Atmos paired with up-firing speakers

Battery life with heavy use may disappoint ; Some security features limited to certain configurations

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga 2019 Laptop Review: Aluminum Unibody & Great Speakers

Notebookcheck is testing the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga 2019, a new Lenovo Yoga laptop for the office and on the move. The special feature of this ThinkPad Yoga laptop of the upper class is that it is the first Lenovo ThinkPad with an aluminum case.

stable, compact case;aluminum surface less susceptible to dirt;significantly better speakers;brighter Full HD LCD for basic models;good equipment with business features & ports;very comfortable input devices;mostly very quiet operation;generous...

touchscreen / digitizer pen did not work in the area on the right ;wrist rest heats up a bit in everyday use;worse battery life than competitors;missing (micro) SD card reader;LTE can not be retrofitted (only ex factory optional);no "Wave" keyboard...

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga (4th Gen) review: Sleeker and lighter, but still excellent Review | ZDNet

The ThinkPad X1 Yoga (4th Gen) is a slim but solidly built 360-degree convertible with support for a 4K screen and mobile broadband, plus a stylus with on-device housing and plenty of security features.

Slim but solid industrial design ; Up to a 4K touch screen ; Mobile broadband option ; Rapid battery charging ; Stylus (provided) charges in an on-device housing

4K screen drains the battery ; Proprietary Ethernet port requires (provided) adapter ; Expensive

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga (2019) review: A perfect fusion of style and substance?

Is the 4th-gen ThinkPad X1 Yoga the version best yet, or should you save money and buy an older model?

Improved speakers ; IR camera and webcam ; Chassis is now smaller and lighter

Gets far too hot ; Seriously costly ; Distracting glossy display

Like the 2018 model, it still has thermal issues that hamper performance and make it uncomfortable to use on the lap. That 4K display is a drain on battery life, it still isn’t colour accurate and its new glossy finish only serves to distract. If you...
