Lenovo Yoga 900 review: Same thin design with fewer compromises

Lenovo's newest Yoga presents far fewer compromises than it did last year, with a thin and light design that's matched by long battery life and fast performance. It's great to see the company responding to user feedback, but maybe next time it will...

Faster performance ; Much-improved battery life ; Base storage is now 256GB ; Still thin and light, but sturdier ; Sharp screen with good viewing angles

Some undersized keys ; Touchpad needs fine-tuning ; Slightly thicker and heavier than last year's model

The Yoga 900 is the laptop Lenovo should have released last year. It's notably thin and light, but manages to offer fast performance and long battery life. It's also more durable than the 2014 edition -- a reassuring thing when you're about to drop...

Lenovo Yoga 900 review: What this laptop gives up in size, it gains in power

Unlike its predecessor, the Yoga 900's isn't trying to be the slimmest reversible laptop around. It's 18 percent thicker than the Yoga 3 Pro to accommodate a more powerful Intel Core i5 or i7 processor—the Pro used a Core M chip—and the larger battery...

Greatly improved performance over the Yoga 3 Pro ; Longer run time than the Yoga 3 Pro ; High pixel density touchscreen display

Thicker and heavier than last year's model ; Slightly underperforms relative to other ultrabooks with the same specs

The Yoga 900 is a fully reversible laptop with a great 13.3-inch, 3200x1800 display and a handsome watchband hinge. Performance is greatly improved over the preceding Yoga 3 Pro, as is battery life, but this newer model is a little thicker and heavier.

Review: Lenovo Yoga 900

Three years on, has Lenovo finally refined the Yoga laptop line to the point where it's worthy of serious consideration? An essential update to last year's half-baked Yoga 3 Pro, the Yoga 900 drops the “Pro” bit altogether. Per the company, the “900”...

Unbelievable battery life. Solid performance at this price. Impressive portability and incredible screen resolution

Keyboard still needs work. Could be better at managing font and icon size issues

Those are minor complaints, however. With an attractive price tag and impressive performance across the board, it’s hard not to recommend this laptop to anyone. Also, it is available in orange.

Lenovo Yoga 900 review

There are plenty of convertible or hybrid laptops out there now, ones that twist and flip and detach and flatten themselves into tablets. For Lenovo, this form factor has been an especially clever...

Next-gen processor ; Still thin and light ; Better battery life than Yoga 3 Pro

Expensive ; Battery life not best in class ; Still not very useful as a tablet

Lenovo Yoga 900

The Lenovo Yoga 900 premium convertible-hybrid laptop is a wonder of engineering, with a complex multimode hinge that lets you use it in a wide variety of positions. Yet it measures just a half-inch thick.

Innovative multimode hinge. Powerful Intel Core i7 CPU. Almost 11 hours of battery life in our tests. Higher-than-1080p-resolution display. USB-C port. Function key row.

Screen colors aren't as bright as that of rivals. Connecting to an external display requires a separate USB-C adapter. Clicky trackpad. Fan noise.

Conclusion While its list price is $200 more than the Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro, the Lenovo Yoga 900 is an improvement in almost every way. It has double the system memory and internal SSD storage. It eliminates micro-HDMI in favor of the forward-looking USB-C...

Lenovo Yoga 900 laptop review: King of the hybrid hill

The latest Yoga adds a serious boost to performance and battery life.

The Lenovo Yoga 900 keeps the slim watchband-style hinge from last year's version, and adds major upgrades to performance and battery life. Even the lowest-cost version includes a big 256GB SSD.

Because of the change to more powerful processors, the body adds a little thickness. A few keys on the keyboard suffer from awkward placement.

Lenovo clearly listened to feedback about last year's high-end Yoga, keeping the excellent overall design but boosting the specs to match other premium 13-inch laptops.

Lenovo Yoga 900 900-13ISK, silver

But, despite being a sharp-looking, well-made laptop/ tablet hybrid, it also wasn't terribly fast, and its battery life was passable but not great. I recommended the Yoga Pro for its design, portability and overall usability, but cautioned that the...

Lenovo Yoga 900 Review

Lenovo's flagship 2-in-1 is the total package when it comes to hybrids, featuring a stunning design, solid performance and a supersharp display.

Sleek design; Strong performance ; Very sharp display; 4 USB ports (including 1 USB Type-C)

Display could be brighter; Undersized right Shift key

Lenovo YOGA 900 Review — a unique twist on luxury laptops

When you mention Lenovo, most people think of its black, durable, no-nonsense ThinkPad laptops. That's only a small slice of Lenovo's product lineup, though, and counted among its more ambitious consumer products are the YOGA tablets and laptops....

Those who have only ever used Lenovo's ThinkPad laptops and find them bland will find the YOGA 900 is an entirely different beast, one that is unashamed of its luxurious design elements but able to carry them without pretension. The laptop is, from a...
