LG Gram 15 review

The LG Gram is insanely light, but its price is a bit nuts.

Extremely light ; Includes Thunderbolt 3 ; Fast, zippy processing ; Thin bezels ; Good battery life

A bit overpriced ; No 4K display or GPU, despite high price ; Lots of flex in the panels ; Display is only average

LG gram 15 (15Z980)

The LG gram 15 is a super-lightweight laptop that offers excellent battery life and powerful performance in a featherweight package.

Exceptionally lightweight design. Long battery life. Solid performance. Ample storage and ports. Vivid 1080p touch display.

Conventional looks. Odd numeric keypad layout.

Bottom Line: The LG gram 15 is a super-lightweight laptop that offers excellent battery life and powerful performance in a featherweight package.

This laptop feels shockingly weightless, has mind-blowing battery life

With a new eighth-gen Intel processor and a few other small changes, the Gram is as impressive as it is light.

The LG Gram 15 is amazingly light for a 15.6-inch laptop and has incredible battery life. Thunderbolt 3 and a fingerprint reader built into the power button are nice additions to last year's model.

Despite LG's durability claims, the laptop does feel flimsy, particularly the lid. Thunderbolt 3 is only available on the priciest model. You'll likely need to adjust to the keyboard layout.

If lightweight, all-day battery life and a large screen size are your top must-haves for your next laptop, the LG Gram 15 is worth the expense.

LG Gram 15Z980 review: It's rich and thin, and its battery doesn't stop

Packing a quad-core 8th-generation Intel processor and a robust battery into an impressively thin and light shell, the peppy but pricey LG Gram cranks all day without weighing you down.

All-day battery life ; Slim and super-light ; Solid array of ports, including Thunderbolt 3 ; DTS Headphones:X support

Middling performance among quad-core 8th-gen notebooks ; Numeric keypad cramps neighboring keys ; Lofty price tag

The 15-inch LG Gram isn't the fastest 8th-generation quad-core laptop we've tested, but it's certainly one of the lightest, and its stellar battery life makes up for its modest performance shortfalls. The Gram's cramped keyboard takes getting used to,...

LG Gram 15Z980 (i7-8550U, Full-HD) Laptop Review

Super featherweight. While many manufacturers compete as to who can create the smallest and thinnest laptop, the LG Gram series vows to be the lightest. The new LG Gram 15 weighs just over a kilogram (~2.2 pounds), which is one of the lightest 15-inch...

magnesium case ; extremely light ; extensive selection of ports including Thunderbolt 3 ; bright and high-contrast display ; additional M.2 slot ; quiet fan ; low surface temperatures ; impressive battery life

the display is prone to twisting ; button layout takes some getting used to ; highly reflective display ; complex warranty procedure

The LG Gram 15Z980 is unrivalled for the crown of thin and light 15-inch notebooks. There are compromises that come with this 1.1 kg (~2.4 lbs) device though. In general, we like LG’s approach to making the device lighter but not making the device thin...

LG gram (2018) review: A 2.4 pound, 15.6 inch laptop

When with a 15.6 inch display a few years ago, I was intrigued. It's been years since I paid much attention to notebooks with screens larger than 13.3 inches, but LG managed to create a large-screened laptop that's surprisingly portable thanks to...

The LG gram 15Z980 is a thin, light, and relatively speedy laptop that offers reasonably long battery life. It’s a great option for anyone who craves the portability of small ultrabook, but wants a bigger screen than you typically get on laptops that...

This Is the Big Laptop to Buy When All You Care About is Packing Light

When you pick up the LG Gram 15 for the first time you're going to find yourself, inexplicably, transported to an Ikea furniture showroom. It's because the LG Gram 15 is so light. It's a 15.6-inch laptop that weighs less than a 13-inch Macbook Pro and...

It is crazy light and the battery life is good!

LG Gram (2018) laptops launch in the US (quad-core chips, 2.4 pounds or less)

LG showed off the at CES in January, and now they're starting to go on sale in the US.

It’s unclear if LG plans to offer cheaper models with Core i5 chips, but that’s something to keep an eye out for if you find the current prices a bit high.
