MSI GT70 0NE-276US

Gaming laptops are not known for their subtle design. Within and without, they're big, ostentatious systems, and the MSI GT70 0NE-276US ($2,599.99 Direct) is no exception. Its hulking chassis is packed to the gills with features, like a multicolor...

Blazing fast performance. Full color programmable backlit keyboard. Blu-ray burner

Bulky. Expensive. Subpar battery life, even for a gaming laptop

With its impressive specs, slew of nifty features, and overall cool design, the MSI GT70 0NE-276US is a fine choice for a gaming laptop, but better choices are out there.

Review Update MSI GT70 2OC-065US Notebook

MSI Power. The extensive GT family includes some of the most powe

Excellent gaming performance; Extensive maintenance options; Large number of interfaces; Backlit keyboard; Brushed aluminum chassis

Slow 5400 RPM HDD; Cannot sustain maximum Turbo Boost under stress; Must break warranty seal to access RAM, HDD, GPU, CPU or other internal components

Very good value for gamers who don't intend to use the GT70 for work applications. Otherwise, an SSD upgrade (or at least a faster 7200 RPM HDD) is highly recommended.

Review MSI CX70-i789BW7H Notebook

Hothead. MSI presents the CX70, a 17 inch multimedia notebook bas

USB 3.0; Up-to-date processor technology; Blu-ray drive; Fewer high-gloss surfaces (than GE70); Good gaming performance; Good application performance; Matte screen

Gets extremely hot; Processor throttles; Shuts off under extreme load; No Full HD screen; Poor contrast

If you prefer owning an SSD rather than a hard disk, you should take a closer look at Acer's Aspire V3-771G. The same processor, same graphics and more RAM are other features of the EUR 1299 notebook. Other interesting devices are Samsung's...

MSI GT70 0NE Review

In our midst, a fully fledged gaming notebook with Intel Ivy Bridge, NVIDIA GTX 680M, 16GB DDR3 and SATA 3 SSD (RAID0). Can it get any better than this?

Robust, good quality ; High-end specifications ; Large, crystal clear screen ; Superior Dynaudio system ; Long battery life

Cost ; Heavy

GT70 is a certified powerhouse, of that there is no doubt. High-end gaming meets the notebook form factor rather aggressively.

MSI GT70 2OC-065US

I'd give this an extra egg if I didn't have to remember to turn on the noisy "turbo" fan before playing games. Maybe mine just didn't get sufficient thermal application?

Plays most games at high settings. Nice keyboard. Nice sound. Great screen. Well built and looks good

Completely worthless track pad. Overheats easily during games without the "turbo" fan going, which is super loud! Came with a bad driver/software disk. The warranty sticker on the bottom, the one that says "void if tampered", was already broken

Wow

I would totally suggest this laptop and the MSI brand. Bought a laptop over 5 or 6 years back, and it still runs well. Bought the GT70 for myself almost a year back and am loving it. Makes travel bearable

Extremely well built, not loaded with crapware. Very fast and way more affordable than any rival (alienware, Asus). Much faster than I expected. Keyboard is just amazing. Fan system keeps things nice and cool, but allows for "turbo" fan mode which...

Heavy and fat, but worth it. You should expect this when buying a gaming laptop

This thing rocks!!!

i went with this cause the other laptops had windows 8 and i did not feel like buying windows 7 or downloading a cracked version of windows 7 and "authenticating" it..just wanted a laptop i could turn on and immediately start playing games..this laptop...

quad-core cpu..12 gigs ram..gtx 770m...the quality in construction of this laptops is amazing...its a gaming laptop so do not expect this to be as light as a macbook air, however it is very manageable...eats everything i throw at it..will run most new...

ot really a con but if you plan on overclocking, even a little bit, you will first need to change the ram..it has ddr3L which means its lower voltage usage meaning it will not overclock..messed with the settings and could not get any performance gains,...

Update on 8/2/13 Review

I cannot say for sure whether the above issue in Cons existed when purchased as I had not used this unit. My wife stated that it always made that noise when she started using it. The fact that it had to be repaired so soon puts it in the cons category,...

All the same Pros as before. Windows 8 took some getting used to, but it's not terrible. This machine is still running every game I throw at it & I have had no issues with hardware or Apps since my last review

If you see my previous review, I mention HD noise. After trading laptops with wife, I realized it was actually the DVD & not the HD making noise. Research on the web pointed at many dead ends with this issue, so before I send this unit back, I restored...

Exceeded my expectations

In light of the issue mentioned under cons, I am not willing to give up on this machine. This is, hands down, one of the best purchases I've made. These laptops now occupy our desks & our custom quad-core gaming rigs are positioned on the floor...

I purchased "two" of these for my wife & I based on reviews from various sites. We are both avid gamers who travel a lot and can't drag our bulky gaming rigs accross country. Out of the box, these machines are eye candy to us. After initial startup &...

I'm glad I waited to submit this review as my Wifes laptop hard drive, unfortunately, just started grinding randomly, indicating it is getting ready to fail. Although this is discouraging for both of us, as a skilled builder & PC enthusiast, I am aware...
