This ultraportable has features designed to handle rough-and-tumble treatment.

With its lightweight but sturdy construction, the W2 Toughbook could be a good choice for a notebook for the road.

Six-hour battery life; unique optical drive hidden under wrist rest; very small and light; rugged construction; lifetime tech support.

Small spacebar; expensive; some design quirks.

Panasonic's innovative, long-lasting ToughBook CF-W2 fills the bill for ultraportable-seeking business or home users.

The Panasonic Toughbook W2 isn't terribly new, but they have recently added a flash of color to the lineup with the new eLite series. The lids now come in scratch resistant black, red, silver and white, but you wouldn't know it from Panasonic's website...
