Asus Zenbook 3 UX390UA review

Fast, slim, and handsome, Asus' Zenbook 3 is the super-slim laptop to beat.

Asus ZenBook 3 (UX390UA)

Although it's one of the thinnest and lightest laptops we've seen, the slick Asus ZenBook 3 still manages to deliver outstanding battery life and performance with its Intel "Kaby Lake" Core i7 processor.

One of the thinnest laptops on the market. Excellent performance and battery life. Strong speakers. Fingerprint reader. Windows 10 Pro.

Single integrated USB-C port. Internal fans run often. Display is limited to full HD panel. No Thunderbolt 3 support. Slippery touchpad.

With the ZenBook 3, Asus has shrunk the Core i7 laptop to amazingly slender proportions—only the HP Spectre 13 is thinner. Though the ZenBook 3 costs a few hundred dollars more than the Spectre, it bests it on every spec and performance measure, except...

Asus ZenBook 3 UX390UA-GS041T Notebook Review

Clear direction. Everything comes at a price. If you want super thin, you will have to waive ports – but not performance! After the throttling issues of the HP Spectre 13, the world's thinnest notebook, Asus can pull it off: Performance like a big...

very light and thin, compact dimensions, one-day runtime, sturdy but not completely torsion-resistant, performance without throttling, firm key stroke, ClickPad enables fast workflow, clear microphone recordings, reliable login via fingerprint,...

not many ports, unusable webcam, shallow key travel, limited feedback, weak ClickPad feedback, speakers without bass

The ZenBook 3 UX390UA-GS041T can easily secure a spot among the top subnotebooks – but at the lower end of the ranking. Apple's MacBook 12 (Early 2016), Dell's XPS 13 9360 QHD+ i7, and HP's EliteBook Folio G1 V1C37EA manage better overall ratings, but...

Asus ZenBook 3 UX390UA Review: Sleek and Powerful Performance

The ultrabooks are currently in vogue as they offer an optimum balance between raw power and portability. Asus too tried to cash in on this latest trend with its Zenbook 3 which steps in the same territory as Apple MacBook or HP Spectre. Recently we...

Great Design and build quality ; Flawless Performance ; Sharp Display and Great Audio ; Long Lasting Battery

Asus ZenBook 3 (UX390UA)

It would be easy to say "honey who shrunk the ZenBook?" Sure in some ways the 12.5", 2.0 pound ZenBook 3 is an impressively miniaturized version of their higher end 13.3" ZenBook models. But the UX390UA ZenBook 3 is more than that: it's a 12" MacBook...

Madly thin and light yet rigid. Fast! Great looking, lovely IPS display, good trackpad, closer to normal keyboard than 12" MacBook

Casualties of the size and weight: only 1 USB-C port and headphone jack. No touch screen option

I think you can tell that I like the Asus ZenBook 3 UX390UA quite a lot. If you've lusted over the 12" MacBook but are a Windows person, or if you've looked at the LG Gram laptops and found their lack of rigidity disconcerting, this could be the...

Asus ZenBook 3 Laptop Review

More power than the MacBook, but not without pitfalls

Asus ZenBook 3 UX390UA

The ZenBook 3 has redefined the Ultrabook, with the lightest and thinnest Intel Core i-powered laptop on the planet. However, as you might expect, the compromises that are made when you shrink a laptop down are notable, but certainly not deal-breakers.

Asus ZenBook 3 review: A proper Apple MacBook substitute

Looks good, feels great and works wonders - Asus' ZenBook 3 is a Windows 10-powered ultraportable marvel

Superbly thin ; Lavish build quality ; Excellent Kaby Lake performance

Disappointing battery life ; Only one USB Type-C port

It might not be as flashy or as sought-after as Apple’s 12in MacBook king, but this ultraportable is a marvellous Windows 10-infused alternative.

Asus ZenBook 3 UX390UA review

Undercutting Apple is one thing, but compromising on keyboard, trackpad and screen is quite another. Asus has designed a beautiful laptop, but it's not without its flaws. Here's our Asus ZenBook 3 UX390UA review

The Asus ZenBook 3 UX390UA is an extremely light laptop and one that doesn’t compromise performance or kill battery life as a result. It’s also more affordable than some of the alternatives, particularly in its entry-level spec. However, we’re not...

Asus ZenBook 3 review: a MacBook minus the Mac.

This 12.5-inch ultrabook mimics the best features of Apple's MacBook, but in a Windows version with a more powerful processor.

Powerful Core i7 processor in a slim, portable package with an excellent touchpad. A helpful USB-C mini-dock is included.

The 12.5-inch display is locked at 1,920x1,080 resolution, and it isn't a touchscreen. Lots of extra bloatware. Battery life isn't as good as the MacBook. Other similarly configured systems cost less.

The Asus ZenBook 3 mimics many of the best features of Apple's 12-inch MacBook, but in a Windows version with a more powerful processor.
