Review Samsung N510 Ion Netbook

Pocket Player. Nvidia's ION chip set has already provided for a s

Robust case; Very good workmanship; Low emissions; Bright, non-glare display with WXGA resolution; Fairly fast graphic; HDMI; Good keyboard; Good mobility; Smooth FullHD rendering possible (dependent on format, software and files); Good converting...

Port distribution; Contrast poor display with pallid colors; Only 1 RAM slot; Poor VGA quality

The Samsung N510 is the first available ION netbook and therefore still without competition. Other manufacturers, like Lenovo with its Ideapads (S12) or HP with the Compaq Mini 311 want to follow and also launch devices based on ION.

Samsung N510 - 11.6in nVidia ION Netbook

We've seen the power of nVidia's Ion in a nettop, now Samsung brings it to a netbook as well.

Samsung brings the Nvidia Ion to the masses

Ion graphics ; Great keyboard ; Good battery power ; Connectivity

Intel Atom

The first ultraportable to include Nvidia's Ion technology doesn't dissapoint. It's fast, highly portable and has a nice interface to work with

Samsung N510 notebook

Samsung's N510 netbook is one of the first machines featuring Nvidia's ION technology to hit the market. With a relatively powerful graphics card alongside the regular Intel Atom processor, the N510 offers a much more rounded package than most rival...

Sharp, matt screen ideal for outdoor use, good 3D performance, excellent keyboard and design

Bland, colours lack vibrancy

With a mid-level price, the Samsung N510 strikes a good balance between performance, portability and comfort. Its large keyboard is one of the best you’ll find on a netbook, and despite a lack of vibrancy the screen is also sharp and highly usable.

Samsung N510 review

The Samsung N510 is the first netbook to use the nVidia Ion graphics chipset - in other words, the first netbook that can really do video.

At the heart of practically every netbook beats a slow but steady Intel Atom, chosen for its worthy low power requirements. Now Samsung has, with nVidia's help, opened up the multimedia possibilities in the Samsung N510, making the first Ion netbook;...

Samsung N510 review

Its 720p-capable screen and Ion chipset are welcome, but its battery life is poor compared to the N120.

The first ION netbook is here, capable of playing HD video and demanding games. But does the N510's performance come at too great a cost?

Worried ION is dead in the water? Think again, the Samsung N510 lives up to the NVIDIA hype

A decent netbook, but the price is too much for what you're getting

Samsung N510 Nvidia Ion-based netbook

An excellent large-screen netbook and arguably the first Samsung netbook worth the price tag. Could be worth waiting a few weeks for the Windows 7 version, though.

Samsung's netbooks have never been what you would call cheap, but for £380 we think the N510 is significantly better value than the firm's previous netbook efforts. The price isn't noticeably higher than the likes of the N120, but for your money you...
