Samsung Notebook 7 Spin review

Samsung's Notebook 7 Spin packs impressive power into its versatile 2-in-1 footprint.

If you’re going to spend $1,200 on a laptop, it should be perfect. The Notebook 7 Spin isn’t.

Samsung Notebook 7 Spin review: A solid 8th-gen 2-in-1 with plenty of battery life

The Samsung Notebook 7 Spin isn't the fastest 2-in-1 convertible on the block, but it combines solid quad-core performance and impressive battery life, all in a reasonably small and affordable package.

Gorgeous touch display with HDR support ; Sensitive "far-field" microphone ; Solid quad-core performance ; Impressive battery life

Performance slightly lags that of similar laptops ; Muddy VGA webcam ; No SD card reader

Like we said before, speed isn't everything, and indeed, a wicked-fast ultrabook with a dead battery won't do you any good at all. So while the Samsung Notebook 7 Spin isn't the fastest 2-in-1 convertible on the block, it boasts an enticing combination...

Samsung Notebook 7 Spin review: Pay for the power, not for the design

The Samsung Notebook 7 Spin feels like it just might languish in the land of the in-betweens: it's got a lot of oomph, including a dedicated graphics card, but it isn't meant for hardcore PC...

Powerful laptop ; Nice, big display ; Every port you could want

Lackluster design ; Heavy ; Weak battery life

Samsung Notebook 7 Spin

With a 15-inch screen, it's a bit large and heavy, but the Samsung Notebook 7 Spin is a fast, well-built convertible laptop with a nice display and plenty of storage.

Solid design and build. Best-in-class performance. Sharp, vibrant touch display. Discrete Nvidia graphics. A ton of storage for this category. Long battery life.

Unwieldy in Tablet mode. Pricier than similar competition.

Conclusion The Samsung Notebook 7 Spin is a very well-made convertible laptop with a sharp, vibrant display, a nice build, and the fastest performance in the category. Its quick speeds and valuable set of features make it useful for getting real work...

Samsung Notebook 7 Spin review: A big-screen hybrid with some gaming chops

It may not turn many heads, but this 15-inch Samsung laptop folds back on itself to become a full HD touchscreen tablet with high dynamic range.

The Samsung Notebook 7 Spin offers very good Core i7 performance, some basic game-ready graphics, and impressive battery life.

The design is bland, especially for a laptop that costs more than $1,000. You're not going to love the touchpad, and the hyped HDR video mode offers only very subtle improvement.

It doesn't have a lot of wow factor, but the 15-inch Samsung Notebook 7 Spin packs in decent premium features, including some you won't find in other hybrids.

Samsung Notebook 7 Spin Review

Beautiful design; Solid performance ; Shallow keyboard; Low-res camera; Short battery life ; The Samsung Notebook 7 Spin is the most attractive 2-in-1 out there, but its short battery life and shallow keyboard hold it back from greatness.

Samsung Notebook 7 Spin (2017) review

This laptop is dense with value

Excellent value ; Snappy keyboard ; Very versatile ; HDR display

Hefty weight ; Graphics narrowly miss the mark

Fashionably designed using mid-range materials and high-end parts, the Samsung Notebook 7 Spin is an obvious choice to quell MacBook Pro envy. This laptop has the "wow" factor that bargain hunters with taste desire.
