Sony VAIO VGN-AR18GP

The widely anticipated Blu-ray drive makes its debut on a notebook and predictably, the honor goes to the Sony VAIO VGN-AR18GP. Here's what we thought of this high-tech luxury.

Blu-ray playback, Blu-ray burning, Great games performance, Big screen

Not much Blu-ray content, No TV-Tuner

An awesome all purpose notebook which has great gaming performance, and Blu-ray support complete with HDMI. For the early adopter, it doesn't get much better than this.

Blu-ray drive. Great raw performance. HDMI output. High quality screen. Plenty of bundled software.

Current dearth of Blu-ray content. No TV tuner. Bulky. Poor battery life.

If you're happy to wait a few months for more Blu-ray content to land, the AR18GP is a powerful, multimedia-rich laptop whose only glaring omission is a TV tuner.

Sony looks to have a winner on its hands with the AR18GP -- the first Blu-ray capable notebook to hit our shores. It's powerful, packed with multimedia features and, frankly, looks suitably sexy.

I WILL BUY THIS PRODUCT IN ABOUT A YEAR.

IT HAS GOT THE LATEST BLU-RAY DRIVE AND 2.16GHz INTEL CORE DUO PROCESSOR AND 1GB OF RAM WITH WUXGA LCD SCREEN

THERE IS NO TV TUNER CARD AND IS HEAVY WEIGHING ABOUT 3.8 KGS WHICH IS NOT GOOD FOR A NOTEBOOK PC IT SHOULD BE LESS THAN 2 KGS
