I've used several types of umbrella holders. The worst are Impact, Interfit and other generic brands, made from black plastic. The friction is weak unless you tighten really well, but then doing so will break the handle in days of weeks of use....

I bought this lens for go with my Samsung DSLR GX10. It was a great choice because the lens covers a wide range. On an APS-c sensor the 28mm isn't too wide...but the zoom is great. All pictures are sharp too.

If 28mm is not wide enough, take a step back. I now use this lens (EF 28-135 IS USM) whenever I am outdoors and use the EF-S 17-85 IS USM lens when I am indoors when space is tighter (no room to take a step backwards).

OK, there is no one diffuser to work in all situations, but this one is pretty darned versatile. And you can find knock-offs on a certain auction site.
