I owned this lense before. Unfortunately, the barrel should be locked while in carrying mode. Otherwise can be fragile fully extended.

Very good performer. Sharp in the centre, and still good in the corners and edges at most focal lengths and apertures. Distortion minimal, and CA decent for this type of lens. Well made, smooth zooming action, and very good value.
