Canon EF 2x II Extender

The Canon EF 2x II Extender is an easy and very affordable way to dramatically extend the reach (focal length) of compatible Canon L Series lenses (and a few additional lenses). This review will sound very similar to the Canon 1.4x Extender Review, but...

becomes a 600mm f/5.6 IS lens

Teleconverter for many Canon L lenses

Teleconverters are a useful way of increasing the focal length of a lens without too hefty a financial cost. They are mounted between the lens and the camera and typically increase the focal length by a factor of 1.4 or 2x. Canon call their...

A useful accessory.

I bought the 2xII Extender to use with a Canon 400D & a Canon EF100-400 4.5/5.6 L IS lens. I was aware that the autofocus function would not operate with this extender & manual focus takes some getting used to, so perseverence is needed. I had read...

Canon Extender EF 2X II

Sometimes a 1.4X is just no enough so this 2X comes handy. Build quality is very good and so is it's optical quality. Yes, AF get's slower but that's a small price to pay. Best when used on a fast lens, like the Canon 300mm f2.8.

built quality, optical

af get's slower

Canon EF 2x II extender

I wanted a professional quality zoom lens that would not only be suitable for wildlife but also general telephoto purposes. I opted for the Canon 70-200 f2.8L IS USM instead of the 100-400 f5.6L. When the 70-200 is coupled with this 2x extender it...

Build quality Fair price Water resistant and dust proof Maintains AF and IS on lenses f2.8 and faster Stackable with 1.4x extender Optically excellent. Quality loss is inevitable with this product but it is very good. Secure mounting to camera and lens...

None. It does exactly as it says on the box. If you expect the impossible you'll be disappointed.
