Great lens to work with, very good quality photos

Ring for locking zoom can be separate from focus ring

Superb for aviation photos

Its a tad heavy for carrying around airshows

It is heavy but worth getting used to. I paired it with a 6 D which is light I find having the camera strap on the tripod mount of the lens balances it better

I love the pull/push zoom and the band to adjust the resistance to pull/push - this novel way of managing zoom makes it much easier to quickly frame the photo you want to take.
