Sony 70-200mm F2.8 G

Excellent build quality. Fast maximum aperture.

Incredibly heavy. Incredibly expensive meaning it's really only suited to full-frame Sony dSLRs.

The Sony 70-200mm lens is an excellent telephoto zoom choice for Alpha cameras, providing you've got deep pockets and strong, strong arms.

The lens is clear and crisp - the build to value ratio is high. I haven't used a zoom lens that is this simple to use and focus.

Very accurate and brightly lens (F 2.8) for optimal picture quality in the whole range of 70 until 200 mm. In my opinion this is the superior 70-200 lens for the Sony Alpha system and much better than lenses with same F-factor of other manufacturers....

The price (although it is worth) and perhaps the weight of the lens, but lenses with this F-factor are always much heavier than ones with worse F-factors.

This is a substantial piece of kit with excellent image quality. Still learning how to use it on my alpha 700. Probably slightly behind my Zeiss 24 - 70 on image quality but I am sure that with a tripod it will perform well.

It is heavy. Plus a bit concerned about rain getting into the lens as it is not sealed (apparently).
