Olympus Zuiko Digital 35 mm f/3.5 Macro

The Olympus company (and it's been also true for Panasonic for a short time) offers the smallest digital reflex cameras' sensors, in the 4:3 format to boot. The focal length's multiple, amounting to as much as 2, suggests that the owners of this brand...

excellent image resolution in the centre and on the edge of the frame across the whole aperture range ; negligible chromatic aberration ; low distortion ; very low coma ; very low astigmatism ; vignetting perfectly controlled ; very good price/quality...

Olympus' 35mm macro gives an equivalent angle of view similar to a 70mm lens used on a full-frame camera and it offers 1:1 life sized magnification too.

Those looking for a handy-sized, lightweight introduction to macro photography for their Four Thirds format SLR can't go far wrong with this optic. At the asking price of a shade under £200, it also represents excellent value for money.

Sharp and Light

Sharp, sharp, sharp across the frame. No "color fringing" even wide open at f3.5. Have used it for awhile prior to moving back to Pentax.

Wish there was a 100mm rather than 35mm

Would like to get a Macro lens but would much prefer one of 100mm to give extra working distance between subject and front of lens, a big advantage for potentially shy subjects such as butterflies. Come on Panasonic, how about it?
