Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K review

Speedy operation ; HDR10 and Dolby Vision support ; Top-notch voice control ; Basic TV controls on remote ; Alexa keeps getting better

Somewhat awkward design ; Voice search still needs work ; System has a few kinks to work out

Amazon’s new Fire TV Stick is loaded to the gills with features, and apart from a few initial hiccups in operation, it offers some of the best value for your money — especially if you’re partial to Amazon’s handy Alexa ecosystem.

Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K

With 4K HDR, Amazon Alexa, and very peppy performance, the Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K is the best media streamer you can buy for under $50.

Affordable. Supports 4K with HDR10 and Dolby Vision. Amazon Alexa. Quick Wi-Fi streaming and menu navigation.

No Google Play apps. Ethernet adapter not included.

Bottom Line: With 4K HDR, Amazon Alexa, and very peppy performance, the Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K is the best media streamer you can buy for under $50.

Westinghouse 4K Amazon Fire TV Review: Great for anyone, especially cord-cutters

Roku got a jump on the budget smart TV market, but Amazon's own platform is ready to battle for top spot. The company first introduced its media box product in the form of the Fire TV and then the Fire Stick, and now that same system has been built...

Very bright backlight and crisp images ; Amazon's platform works flawlessly ; OTA TV features are great for cord-cutters ; Lightweight ; Having Alexa on the TV is convenient

Using TV features like Mute isn't intuitive ; No HDR ; No picture-in-picture

Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K review: This is the media streamer to beat

Amazon's new Fire TV Stick sheds past mistakes and streams 4K HDR video at an unbeatable price.

Impressive performance at a low price ; Broad HDR format support, plus HDR menus and SDR-to-HDR conversion ; Increasingly useful Alexa voice controls

The menu system is still too bloated ; Genre searches are Alexa's weak spot ; No support for YouTube TV, our favorite live TV streaming service

As with previous Fire TV devices, the Fire TV Stick 4K’s menu system is both its biggest downside and its greatest source of potential.

Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Review: A Welcome Upgrade

Some of my least-favorite things about the Fire TV Stick are still present in the Fire TV Stick 4K. It requires a separate power cable; its search could be better; and it pushes Amazon content way too hard.

Excellent 4K HDR quality ; Zippy navigation ; Lots of great apps ; Improved remote

Amazon-heavy interface ; Requires inconvenient power adapter

As 4K HDR streaming devices go, the Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K does a great job balancing functionality, price and performance.

Amazon Fire TV 4K (2017) Review: Big smarts, tiny box

Amazon's latest Fire TV box can stream video at an impressive 4K Ultra HD resolution, at up to 60 frames-per-second, while also supporting HDR visuals.

4K HDR support ; Simple interface ; Alexa integration

Limited connectivity

For just £70 here in the UK, the new Fire TV with 4K HDR support offers stunning value for money. You can stream great-looking video from the usual services such as Netflix as well as Amazon’s own Prime Video, while full Alexa support gives it an edge...

Amazon Fire TV with 4K review

  (Rating Hidden)

The Fire TV Stick may get all the attention, but there's actually another internet TV box in Amazon's armoury. The Amazon Fire TV with 4K, as the name so clearly suggests, offers ultra-high definition streaming through an Alexa-enabled dongle with all...
