Alienware AW2725QF review: Are two monitors better than one? | Digital Trends

Alienware's new AW2725QF claims to be two monitors in one, but it feels more like two halves of a monitor glued together.

Solid brightness in HDR ; Good color coverage ; Highly adjustable stand with excellent cable management ; Stunning pixel density at 4K

No KVM ; A bit expensive ; Dual refresh rate feature isn't as useful as it could be

“The Alienware AW2725QF brings dual refresh rates down to a more reasonable price, but it still doesn't feel worth it.”

Alienware AW2725QF review: A versatile but mediocre monitor

Excellent motion clarity at 360Hz ; Great sharpness at 4K resolution ; Attractive design

The Alienware AW2725QF’s dual-resolution mode can offer 4K resolution at up to 180Hz, or 1080p at up to 360Hz. That makes the monitor more versatile, but mediocre image quality makes the monitor hard to recommend.

Alienware AW2725QF gaming monitor review: Two displays in one for under $600

Alienware brings us its first dual resolution monitor

Dual resolution feature ; High nits of brightness ; Colorful LED panel ; Easy to set up

Only worth it if you make full use of its features ; Swapping resolutions is a bit finicky

Alienware’s first ever dual resolution monitor is an absolute success, but it’s only worth it for a niche selection of gamers.

Alienware AW2725QF 4K dual-mode gaming monitor review: Two displays in one

The Alienware AW2725QF is a 27-inch 4K gaming monitor with 180 Hz, an FHD 360 Hz mode, Adaptive-Sync, HDR600 and wide gamut color.

Very bright image for SDR and HDR ; Vibrant and accurate color ; Terrific gaming performance with dual resolution and speed capability ; Fully loaded with gaming and convenience features ; Solid build quality ; Excellent value

Average SDR contrast

The Alienware AW2725QF effectively and elegantly balances performance between video card and display. It’s great to look at and delivers responsive gameplay in both 4K/180 Hz and Full HD/360 Hz modes. At this point in time, its flexibility and value...

Alienware AW2725QF review: Two resolutions, one monitor

The best dual-mode monitor yet, but still clearly flawed

Luscious 4K panel ; Crazy fast for an LCD monitor ; Dual-mode feature mostly works

Poor contrast and HDR versus an OLED display ; Limited connectivity ; Not exactly cheap

Alienware is the latest brand to try the 4K-1080p dual-mode thing. It kind of works, but this gaming monitor's biggest draw is its super-fast IPS panel and 4K precision. It's only the HDR performance that disappoints.
