AOC 2236Vw

Cheap.

Touch buttons aren't sensitive enough and can't be seen in the dark. Extremely prevalent light bleed. Poor greyscale control. Frustratingly bad OSD.

AOC's 2236Vw is a budget-level model, with severe light bleed, poor greyscale control and an awful OSD. There are simply much better options in this price range, like Acer's G225HQ. As such, we can't recommend it.

Dead after 13 months

Maybe my experience is unique, but a monitor dying after just over a year is unacceptable. I own a Samsung SyncMaster now. The picture is far superior, but only time will tell if it does better.

Clear picture. Very little light leakage. Good speed when watching high speed action. Vibrant colors

Died after just 13 months. The picture went blurry. Tried different cables, different computer, different power outlet. Looks like the panel itself is hosed. Unfortunately, AOC warranty covers the panel for only 1 year, so this monitor is basically...

Brighter and clearer than my Samsung

Had the turn the brightness down a little, the default is a little too high and hurt my eyes. Perfect after a 20 second adjustment.

Brighter and clearer than all my other monitors. This is an amazing monitor ; I have five monitors connected to my workstation. This is monitor #5 and it outshines my Samsung that I added last year ; Somehow all the colors seem more crisp

AOC LCD

My old 8800 GTS is still working. It works well with this screen on my old 2.4 GHz P965 rig. Hasn't died on me yet.

Great color and overall sharpness. Nice and bright, with strong contrast

The controls are a tremendous pain. It took me an hour to set the screen up. Also, the screen turns of by itself every so often (a real pain in a game). AOC, fix this

Almost Perfect!

After owning this monitor for several months, I can point out several cons, but for me (and hopefully everyone else) the most important aspect of a monitor is the picture. Make no mistake about it, the picture on this monitor is fantastic, and far...

Wonderful, vibrant picture ; Full 1080p ; Lots of options/settings ; Better all-around stats than much pricier monitors ; Sleek look and feel

Need the Rosetta Stone to decipher the menus ; The "A" from "AOC" fell off after a few months ; No HDMI port (I purchased a DVI-HDMI adapter, problem solved!) ; Mildly wobbly stand

Cheap LED LCD

Why doesn't anyone double box monitors? With shipping carriers these days, you have about a 25% chance of getting a monitor that isn't damaged.

The computer repair center I use to work for sold AOC, and overall they were very comparible to other brands, so I thought I would give one a shot ; 1. Screen is bright and colors are brilliant. I set mine to Game Mode and used a "3" on the gamma...

1. The menu on this thing is POORLY designed for the average consumer. Luckily, there are some very decent posts on the internet explaining what things are in the menu ; 2. The glossy frame is a fingerprint and dust magnet. I do not understand why...

Love It

I've got 3 different 22" monitors on my desk connected to the same computer. One is hard to read at the resolution I like to run things at, another monitor's picture vibrates if my small little pc speaker is within 8 inches of it, even at low volume....

Best Monitor Ever for Price

Find a better monitor for the price.......... not gunna happen. Jump on it before its too late.

Outstanding picture and clarity. Drivers were a breeze to install. Great touch pad for on/off and menu controls. Awesome with games. Extremely happy with purchase. : )

Wierd but simple menu screen. Took me 30 secs to figure out. Too bright out of the box, had to dim down, but not really a con. Glossy black frame and stand show fingerprints easy. If its for use and not art who really cares

Awesome!

This monitor is great and highly recommend it. Its cheap and its great. The cons it has aren't a big enough reason to not buy it.

When I first went to the store to buy a monitor, I looked at every single monitor and tried to mess around with the menu incase someone messed with them. After messing around with many of the menu's, the colors on most of the monitors still looked...

The onscreen menu is a bit confusing at first to get around in, but after a while you will get used to it ; Also, it doesn't have an HDMI port, but that doesn't really matter to me since HDMI and DVI have the same exact quality ; Another thing is that...
