Asus ROG Swift PG279Q review

Attractive design ; Highly adjustable stand ; Intuitive controls ; Spot-on color accuracy ; Insane 165Hz refresh rate

Limited input options ; Gamma is too dark ; Expensive for 1440p resolution

ASUS ROG Swift PG279Q MONITOR

The ASUS PG279Q is a great 144Hz gaming monitor with a 1440p IPS panel. The picture quality is decent with a great brightness, good for overcoming glare in a bright room. The monitor has a low native contrast ratio so blacks appear gray in a dark room,...

Excellent motion handling ; Feels very responsive ; Remains accurate when viewed from up close

Blacks appear gray in a dark room ; No HDR support

Asus PG279Q ROG Swift 27-inch 165Hz Gaming Monitor Review

We have the highly-anticipated ROG Swift PG279Q in the lab today. It's a 27-inch IPS-type panel with QHD resolution, G-Sync, ULMB and an unprecedented 165Hz max refresh rate.

Stable at 165Hz•G-Sync•Bright sharp picture•Saturated color•GamePlus•OSD joystick controller•Styling•Solid build quality

Significant light output reduction in ULMB mode•Calibration required for best image quality•Expensive

Asus' new addition to its ROG line isn't perfect but it certainly delivers on its promise. With a sharp and bright IPS panel, 165Hz and G-Sync, the PG279Q has everything an enthusiast could want. It doesn't come cheap but we suspect that buyer's...

ASUS ROG Swift PG279Q Monitor Review - NVIDIA G-Sync 165Hz Bliss

ASUS refreshes its incredible ROG Swift display with the PG279Q, cranking the refresh rate to 165Hz. This is the gaming monitor you want.

Asus ROG Swift PG279Q

The Asus ROG Swift PG279Q is, on paper, the ideal 27-inch gaming monitor. It has an IPS panel, so overall image quality should be superb, plus it can refresh at up to 165Hz and includes G-Sync technology too. Unless you're after a super-high-resolution...

Awesome! No issues!! ... well except price

- No Dead/Stuck pixels - Minimal if at any backlight bleeding (I'm honestly having trouble finding any at all on a pure black background) - I suspect the Refurb models are more closely inspected by ASUS than the "brand new" ones, so chances of getting...

- Poor Shipment packaging: -It came in the original box (great!) except that the tape was torn on two different sides of the box (that hold the box flaps down), so I'm surprised the display didn't fall out nor did it lose its cables. - Display was just...

Plagued with strange issues... Will update review once sorted.

I was thinking about RMAing this panel but I wanted to get some feedback form the community before I did so to exhaust all options before the hassles of a return. I want to love this panel, the picture is fantastic, no dead pixels very little issues...

Panel and build quality from a material and tactile standpoint. Image quality is amazing when it works.

Not plug and play leading me to think my panel is defective Nothing in the box but a single sheet of paper that folds out showing you how to install it, and one disc with outdated drivers.

You get what you paid for

I'd say the refurbish is not as bad as what I thought. I already have one PG279Q paid full price back in March, and the IPS glow was somewhat excessive, but everything else was fine when I bought this refurbish one I thought it would be a lot of BLB...

- As advertised

- IPS glow still a problem on this

Great product But !!

I like all about this screen !

Dead Pixel in the middle of the screen!!! This hurt my eye !!! A lot of backlight bleed all around the screen ! I will wait for a replacement !

Amazing monitor that puts all other gaming screens to shame

If you can catch these in stock it's the best deal you could hope to find on the ultimate gaming monitor.

165Hz refresh rate makes this monitor so smooth I just want to say, "I can't believe it's not butter!" The G-sync and high refresh rate make gaming a whole new experience, and I was already used to an Overlord Tempest IPS screen at 100Hz. Side by side...

It has a very small amount of backlight bleed in the lower corners that's only detectable on a completely black background.
