Lenovo Thinkvision L171P Monitor

IBM's ThinkVision L171p offers plenty of ergonomic options--it can be adjusted smoothly, and it has a solid footing. But its image quality pales in comparison to most of the other 17-inch displays we've tested, and it offers few extras.

Easy to make adjustments with this model

Confusing on-screen controls; no extras.

Even though the L171p's image quality leaves much to be desired, the display offers a nice range of adjustments

Lenovo/IBM ThinkVision L171p

The big (24-inch) Samsung SyncMaster 242mp multifunction monitor delivers impressive widescreen image quality and an assortment of connectivity options.

Ultraslim bezel. Supports portrait rotation. Good image quality.

DVI cable costs extra. Rotation software not included. Weak vertical viewing-angle performance.

All told, the Lenovo/IBM ThinkVision L171p is a good choice, especially for users who work with more than one LCD or will benefit by viewing documents in portrait mode.

ThinkVision L171P review

ThinkVision L171p

Flexible; pivots from landscape to portrait orientation; supplies both analog and digital inputs; superior warranty; good brightness.

No cable-management system; colors appear in the grayscales; screen is not uniform.

The ThinkVision L171p scores points for its versatility, but its image quality, while adequate, doesn't match that of similarly priced monitors.

17IN/16V 24mm 1600x1200 94hz P76 BLK

WHAT'S HOT: If judged on graphics quality alone, the P76 would have placed high on our Top 10 chart: It rendered images with appealing color saturation and brightness. It also displayed text that's a pleasure to look at, mainly due to the whiteness of...

The rather expensive P76 renders easy-to-read text and produces vivid images.

Goofy

There are symptoms of the monitor flaking out but I can live with the issues. Doesn't affect usability and it's not my full time monitor.

Monitor works and the stand is very adjustable. There are some issues with the one I received

The monitor flickers and has many lines on it as it starts up. This happens initially during bios flash screens and as the systems attached first boot up. Once Windows starts to load the lines go away and it functions great

ThinkVision 17"

Great deal, also there is no brick.

This monitor is crystal clear, with No dead pixels. Running vista beta with duel monitors the other is a Dell Ultra sharp 1907PF. This lenovo is much better

The stand height seems slightly low

Really Good Monitor!!!

Overall, this monitor is great and I like the performance of the unit.

This monitor is one of the best I have ever used... Design and everything else is great and the menu buttons on the front of the unit are easy to use, including an auto adjust feature. It also has a really thin bezel that is only about 1 inch wide

Sometimes, when my computer is turned on, the picture on the monitor is way off to the side, I end up having to manually press the Auto Adjust Button almost every time I turn on the system. My SAMSUNG monior automatically adjusts the picture whenever...

Don't bother.

The Lenovo ThinkVision L171p isn't the greatest monitor I've seen. It's not horrible, but it's not that great, either. Text often appears blurry, and color distinction is just simply.. Not as good as it could be. I've seen much better. Editting...

Cheap.

A lot to mention.
