LG 34UC89G review

LG's 34UC89G is a beautiful high-refresh monitor, but compromises on resolution.

High refresh rate ; Decent contrast ; G-Sync adaptive refresh ; Great on-screen menus

Low pixels per inch ; High price for 1080p ; Short warranty

LG’s ambitious 34UC89G is certainly a step in the right direction for ultrawide monitors. High refresh rate screens are just starting to make their way to the aspect ratio, and this initial effort by LG shows how much smooth gameplay can facilitate...

LG 34UC89G-B

The LG 34UC89G-B gaming monitor uses G-Sync technology and speedy refresh rates to deliver solid performance on a huge curved 34-inch screen.

Solid gaming performance. Good grayscale and viewing angle performance. Speedy refresh rate. G-Sync enabled.

Expensive. Skewed greens. Lacks advanced color adjustments. One-year warranty.

If you're ready to experience gaming on an extra-large curved-screen monitor, the LG 34UC89G-B is definitely worth a look. Its 34-inch IPS panel uses Nvidia G-Sync technology and a speedy refresh rate to deliver smooth and error-free gaming...

LG's 34-inch G-Sync monitor is speedy and bright but short on pixels

LG's 34UC89G curved 34-inch monitor delivers a great gaming experience, but skimps on some basics.

The LG 34UC89G's curved IPS panel delivers a better picture than many VA-based alternatives without sacrificing speed, it has some nice options for gaming, and the relatively well-designed monitor and stand look the part.

Given its size and cost, it's relatively low resolution; there aren't a lot of connections and no USB-C, it doesn't have any colored lights, and it's not great for anything other than gaming.

For gamers who need G-Sync and want a lot of screen real estate, the LG 34UC89G is a solid choice.

LG 34UC89G Review: Pricey Gaming Monitor Packs in Features and Performance

The LG 34UC89G offers a unique blend of performance and features, delivering overclocked refresh rates and quick response times in an ultrawide 34-inch curved monitor that boasts Nvidia G-Sync and excellent overall performance. If 1080p resolutions are...

Beautiful curved 34-inch display ; Excellent performance ; Supports Nvidia G-Sync for stutter-free gaming ; Low latency ; Fast refresh rate

Relatively low resolution ; No built in speakers ; Older ports with awkward placement ; Expensive

The LG 34UC89G hits some real high notes with excellent features and solid performance. But at this price we'd expect better resolution and more current connectivity options.

LG 34UC89G review

LG's striking red-and-black gaming monitor certainly looks the part -- that's relatively unusual for a company that doesn't have a dedicated gaming brand -- and with a fast IPS panel, high refresh rate, G-Sync and a roomy slightly curved screen, it's a...
