If you're in the market for a large widescreen monitor, put the LG on your list of monitors to take a look at. Don't rely on reviews to make this choice though – choosing a monitor is best done in a computer store. You'll likely be surprised at the...

LG Flatron L227WTG

The LG Flatron L227WTG offers great performance for gaming and watching movies, but its glossy surface makes it a poor choice for office use.

Bright, vivid display; fast pixel-response time

Pricey; glossy screen makes bright-light viewing difficult; limited input connectivity; DVI cable not included

Unfortunately, the version of this monitor without a glossy screen, the L227WT, is only available in Europe. That, combined with the inflexible stand, makes it less than ideal for office use, but for home users who can control ambient light sources,...

LG Flatron L227WT review

LG's L227WT is the most expensive 22in monitor here, but it also has the best image quality and is the best-looking.

This review has been translated from Danish and contains the introduction, measurements, pictures and a conclusion. Some sections have been excluded from the translation, however. Future reviews will be fully translated.

Nice design and quality; Rapid response time

Poor viewing angles; Some backlight bleeding

Even though L227WT has somewhat imprecise colours and some backlight bleeding at the bottom of the panel, it’s a recommendable monitor. The design is very nice with the glossy, black look and the construction is stable. The ergonomics are fair for a...

Died 5 minutes ago

Worked very well for 3 years and 5 months

The LG monitor just died 5 minutes ago. It worked well during the 3 year warranty period. Continued on for another 5 months and then died. I will never buy another product from LG

Unbeatable Value

This is a monitor, namely with fast response time and being oriented for multi-purpose including fast paced gaming. It is nothing but pure win on every aspect in respect for what it was designed to do and it gives respectable rivalry to CRTs for FPS...

The packaging it came with was nice and snug, no dead/stuck pixels or discoloration. I've tested pretty much every color that you would normally encounter in regular use or as close to regular as you would expect from someone that watches tons of pure...

Came with a VGA, but a quick trip down to the local store and about 15-20 bucks will fix that for most (DVI-D fwiw which also means that you get the awesomeness of HDCP programing namely linking devices to be commanded by one device and the digital...

Great monitor

The blue LED power button matches the lights on my computer case... an unexpected plus!

Works great! No dead pixels, nice resolution, an excellent monitor

As others have mentioned, a little light leaks through the top and bottom but it isn't very noticeable, even when on a black screen. The screen itself is also can get some pretty strong glare, but the right setup should be able to avoid that

Powered by LG's picture enhancing chipset, F-Engine, the L227WT offers users the very best image definition and color reproduction available today. When set to 'Movie Mode', a pre-configured setting of the f-engine, the contrast ratio is maxed to an industry leading 5000:1, creating the most life-like images experienced on a PC. In addition, the monitor is equipped with a gray to gray response time of 2 m/s that virtually removes all traces of ghosting, blurring or tearing. The L227WT's design perfectly complements its high-end specifications with a sleek, thin bezel and a gloss-black finish housing its superior technology. The monitor is operated by a touch sensitive circular power button. Other controls, such as the F-Engine and ez-zooming, are neatly tucked away at the bottom of screen, making it a stylish addition to any home or business. The L227WT incorporates LG's proprietary technology, 'ez-zooming', a feature that gives users the ability to reduce screen resolution by one setting with just a touch of a button. This technology, which is unique to LG, is perfect for enhancing imagery and making the monitor easier to use.
