Today we are looking at the latest 24 inch monitor from ASUS – the VG248QE, which sports a 1080p resolution, nVidia 3D Vision support and a 144hz refresh rate for super smooth 3D gaming. We weren't overly impressed with the VG278HE 27 inch 144hz screen...

Nice build quality ; great stand system ; 3D gaming is fantastic ; 144hz refresh rate ; Displayport connector ; quick refresh eliminates ghosting and artifacting

2D image quality is only average at best ; glossy finish gets dirty quickly ; white purity and black definition

Kitguru says: Not the best ASUS monitor we have tested. If you want to play 3D games all the time however, then it is worth considering.

Refurbished ASUS VG248QE

Upon receiving the product I inspected the monitor for dead pixels and any scratches or other damage and honestly I couldn't find anything wrong, seems like a new monitor. The only thing that showed the product is refurbished was the packaging, the box...

- 144hz refresh rate - 24" screen - Built in speakers (for those that would want them) - The mount for the monitor is not too large yet gives great stability and allows for easy screen rotation and flexibility.

- Being refurbished, just the chance it may arrive with a defect or something otherwise not perfect.

Quite excellent, if you don't mind a few scratches.

Definitely recommend this for the lower price.

-Works as advertised. -144hz. -1ms input time. -Came working and with all parts.

-Minor scratches and scuffs AROUND screen, but NOT ON screen. -Lack of documentation for how to adjust height. (You tilt the screen back as far as it will go, and you can freely slide it.)

Great Monitor but Buyer Be Wary

If you use lightboost be sure to have this monitor in a dark-ish room or the lack of brightness will be a problem. I have blackout curtains so no big deal for me

-This monitor looks amazing. Colors are vibrant even when lightboosting. -Great latency, extremely low motion blur when using Lightboost at 120hz. 24" is really the perfect size for my desk, viewing angles are just ok but that's what you get with TN

-First one I got had these light grey horizontal lines and it got all purple when I used lightboost, Apparently this is a common issue with this panel (especially the 24" model) and probably some percentage of these refurbished monitors have this...
