ViewSonic VG2030wm review: ViewSonic VG2030wm

ViewSonic VG2030wm

Unique, swiveling stand gives you more adjustability than other LCDs in its class; mostly strong performance; thorough service and support coverage

No HDCP-compliance; irritating onscreen display; especially bad audio output; expensive

Even if you don't care that ViewSonic's VG2030wm lacks HD DVD or Blu-ray support, we can't give this LCD monitor a strong recommendation simply because there are too many better, more capable displays on the market for the same price. Its image quality...

ViewSonic VG2030wm

With their slim-line frames and sober styling, some flat-panels are born to melt into the background. Others, though, are more like the ViewSonic VG2030wm.

A pretty high-quality 20in screen for £270 represents good value for money. The ViewSonic's looks won't be to everybody's taste, but this is a very decent model that packs in plenty of colour and a sizeable work area.

Decent speakers and design, but the LG is better value.

It isn't all good news, though: the OSD control buttons are minuscule and bunched together on the right-hand side. Even those with the smallest of digits will struggle not to push two at once

Taking this monitor out of the box, we were almost fooled into thinking it wasn't a widescreen model at all, as there's a large chunk of plastic at the bottom of the monitor that squares it off.

VG2030WM 20"

Newegg has been handling most of my computer needs for years now and I can sum up my experience with one word...Confidence. I get what I need in a timely manner at reasonable prices. In the odd event of a problem with a product, Newegg handles it, no...

Not my first experience with a widescreen but my first ownership. small footprint, light weight, easily raised and lowered, pivots on base. Upon receipt it was connected first to an Apple and secondly to a PC (OSX and Windows XP). Immediately ran a...

the worst things i can say about this monitor are ; 1. the digital cable I am using is not very flexible, the routing is somewhat tight from monitor port through hold downs though not much of an issue ; 2. the speakers built in arent worth using except...

Disappointing

I'm going back to Dell monitors.

Inexpensive, fast response, decent graphics

2 of 6 monitors failed in just under one year. Advance replacement not possible because Viewsonic did not have any others in stock - so, had to send in to have fixed, which took over 2 weeks

Excellent Name Brand Monitor!

This is a very, very decent low/mid-grade monitor. Do NOT buy a cruddy "non name brand monitor." This one has good color, uniform brightness and acceptable viewing angles. It even accepts color calibration very well, just make sure you keep its white...

Even brightness ; More than Acceptable Color for NON color-critical applications ; Calibrates Well with my i1display2 (keep the native white point) ; Good Brightness and Contrast ; Viewsonic Quality

Poor speakers (to be expected) ; Screen Glare (in bright rooms) ; Vertical Viewing angles (horizontal angles are a tad better)

Great monitor

Nice and bright. Clear picture. Seems to render colors accurately. Good on-screen controls ; Has 1 DVI and 1 VGA input (for legacy monitors) ; No dead pixels ; I have never once seen any ghosting or streaking or any other defect at all when playing...

Raising or lowering your viewing angle (vertically) even 1 or 2 inches changes the brightness quite dramatically ; For example, the menu bar above appears dark orange when my desk chair is completely lowered and changes to medium yellow if I raise my...
