Mobile Memory Mouse 8000 Bluetooth Laser Mouse

Input device is pricey but works well.

Includes 1GB of storage, Great optics

Expensive

Business travelers will appreciate the flexibility this mouse offers; other people will find its price too high

Microsoft Mobile Memory Mouse 8000 review: Microsoft Mobile Memory Mouse 8000

Microsoft Mobile Memory Mouse 8000

Works with both 2.4GHz and Bluetooth; rechargeable battery; 1GB of flash memory on the receiver.

Receiver doesn't snap into base; stunted design not suited for long-term use.

Microsoft's ambitious, if slightly awkward, Mobile Memory Mouse 8000 covers all the bases with built-in memory, both Bluetooth and 2.4GHz, and even a rechargeable battery.

Microsoft Mobile Memory 8000

While Microsoft's Mobile Memory Mouse 8000 has some odd flaws, it's a fundamentally well-designed mouse that would make an excellent addition to your road warrior arsenal.

Comfortable, ergonomic design, Rechargeable battery, Wireless receiver doubles as a flash drive, Dual connectivity

IntelliPoint software is missing a few key features, The placement of the thumb buttons is too high, Flash drive does not work with Vista ReadyBoost, For right-handed users only

Microsoft Mobile Memory Mouse 8000

Lately, Microsoft has developed a new strategy by creating an innovation direction for some recently released products. For example, Microsoft has tried to push the envelope with interesting mouse combinations such as the Notebook Presenter Mouse 8000,...

Laser Technology ; Battery Indicator ; Rechargeable ; Memory Built In ; Carrying Case ; On/Off Switch ; Bluetooth / Wireless Switch

Not shipped with IntelliPoint 6.2 ; Battery Door Not Attached ; Carrying Case could be tiny bit bigger ; Memory Drive Cannot Be Used for ReadyBoost ; Device not certified for Windows Vista

The transceiver is the same size as some older USB keys and is not too big. There is a magnetic strip on the end for the connection to the charging cord. The charging cord is about two feet long and is ample length. There is a round connector for the...

This mouse offers versatility, mobility and good accuracy for notebook users. While it's small, it's still fairly comfortable, but its scroll-wheel button could use a little more resistance.

Ships with a wireless transceiver, but can also use Bluetooth; its transceiver is also a 1GB USB storage stick and charger

The scroll-wheel's left and right button movements can't be assigned an action in the IntelliPoint software

Microsoft Mobile Memory Mouse 8000 review

A mouse that's as much at home in your laptop bag as on a desk

Innovative cable design ; RF and Bluetooth ; Rechargeable ; 1GB storage Rich driver software

Odd acceleration behaviour

It’s not cheap, but the flexibility and usefulness of this mouse can’t be overstated

Microsoft, celebrating 25 years of making hardware for your computer, want to rejoice with the launch of what it claims is yet another cutting edge mouse. But is the Mobile Memory Mouse 8000 all that it's cracked up to be? We get scrolling to find out....

Mouse is small, compact and comfortable to use

Dongle is massive, do you really need to charge on the go, take dongle out to share data and mouse stops working

Microsoft Mobile Memory Mouse 8000

Microsoft's Mobile Memory Mouse 8000 impressed us, despite its heady price.

In all but one respect we can't fault the Microsoft Mobile Memory Mouse 8000. It is beautifully constructed, stylish and easy to use. But the Mobile Memory Mouse 8000 represents a hefty outlay for what remains, at the end of the day, a computer mouse.
