Olympus DS-30 Digital Voice Recorder

I bought this (my first) voice recorder because it offered a stereo mic at the best price, and looked like it had potential for recording my live music rehearsals with electric guitars and drum machine.

Does what it should - shame on Olympus 3 recorders the only difference excessive price for more memory - SD cards?

Absolutely excellent look no further - I did but should not have

Complicated often ineffectual VCVA in some modes but not a problem - Use when required

If you record long periods of dictation and or interviews, the Olympus DS-3000 is still one of the best professional recorders available. Fully compatible with the Olympus AS-3000 PC Transcription kit.

Expandable, fully featured digital voice recorder cabable of recording up to 44 hours high-quality DSS format recordings. Full editing functions, 3 folders and Conference/Dictation modes for the microphone.

Smartmedia is becoming a little harder to find now, but are still available. The recorder is a little more fragile that some of the other Olympus digital recorders.
