A plug-in MP3 player with a built-in camcorder

Philips takes its line of ultraportables one step further with the GoGear Key019, a pint-size MP3 player that captures photos and video. Has Philips squeezed in too much functionality? Find out in our review.

Ultracompact; encased in light and durable magnesium; easy to use; decent-quality images; high coolness factor; convenient plug-in design.

Measly 128MB memory capacity; slow transfer rates due to USB 1.1; lacks zoom and flash features; no tone controls or playlist support; audio output could be louder.

While the Key019's coolness factor may appeal to the must-have gadget crowd, photo and music enthusiasts will find it lacks certain features they've come to expect in many of today's portable convergence devices.
