Canon Pixma MG6150 review

Higher up the scale in Canon's new range of Pixma printers is the MG6150, an all-in-one device that combines print, scan and copy functionality in a sleek black chassis that boasts a 3-inch colour display that can be tilted upwards for better...

Excellent quality document and photo output, nicely designed, easy to use, good range of connectivity and control over media

Scan quality could be better, a little expensive without online discounts

The Pixma MG6150 is nicely designed, very easy to set-up and use and is flexible enough to handle the majority of output tasks for the modern consumer. When taking into account the discounts available online we think it would be a good choice for those...

Canon PIXMA MG6150 review

A practically perfect Wi-Fi all-in-one printer

Fast, fabulous print quality for both photos and documents ; Full range of USB, Ethernet and Wi-Fi connectivity ; High resolution 9600dpi printing and 4800dpi scanning ; Sleek and intuitive touch panel interface for stand-alone functions ; Extra grey...

It's not cheap, costing twice the price of the more basic Canon iP4850 ; The glossy black surface of the touch panel is prone to pick up finger marks ; Some might prefer a touchscreen LCD to a touch panel, as featured on the HP C309G and Lexmark S60 ;...

Barely any more expensive than the outgoing Canon MP640, the MG6150 crams in an extra grey cartridge for fabulous fidelity and an elegant touch panel interface. It's a cracker.

Canon PIXMA MG6150 review

This big, stylish MFP is a great all-rounder, but it's quite expensive to run. Epson's PX720WD just has the edge.

Canon Pixma MG6150

Excellent black print quality. Excellent photo print quality. Intuitive and slick touch panel. CD/DVD printing.

Very slow print speeds. iPhone/iPad app performance is flaky.

Canon's Pixma MG6150 is a slow multifunction printer, but the print quality and ease of use make it a multifunction worth waiting for.

The Pixma MG6150's extra grey ink helps produce impressive photo output

Stay clear of this one

Nice print, but that's all that it's got going for it. The interface and software is terrible. Forces you to keep all colours full, even if you only want to print/copy in black and white. I bought a full original Canon colour kit for around $160 and as...

Canon Pixma MG6150

Really slick looking printer. Controls are very intuitive. Was fast and easy to connect to my wireless network, just point it at the access point and key in my 26 digit hex password and it was working. Photo prints are superb, a little darker than the...

Well, Canon not telling the whole truth about the scanner. They claim 4800*4800dpi. Scanning from the printer front panel is limited to 600dpi, as are most of the windows apps. When scanning from the scanner driver, you *can* select 4800dpi by...

Ink runs out super quick

I do not usually write these reviews but I just wanted to warn people before buying one of these that it uses up the ink really fast, for example I have brought the Magenta cartridge a few weeks back and after printing 20-30 pages at the most, not even...

unenvironmental printer

The MG6150 uses enormous volumes of ink at every start up. Since Xmas 2011 I have replenished all the cartridges at least twice and only for a handfull of documents - not even one in here. Can't select Black & White print (except for copy). The warm up...

Wastes ink. Long warm up, another long warm up if the printer is idle for a minutes or so - more ink wasted

No problems

I've been more than happy with this printer. It works perfectly all the time. I've had no problems using non canon branded inks. I have no idea why the first few reviews were so bad. It worked perfectly straight out of the box. The wireless function...

works as expected.
