Service and support

Canon i9900

Extremely impressive color and black-and-white prints; fast; supports paper sizes up to 13x19; can clean nozzles for subset of colors.

Canon doesn't offer a broad array of fine-arts papers; no straight-through paper path; can reliably feed only a single sheet of 13x19 Photo Paper Pro.

As long as its limited paper options don't matter to you, the Canon i9900 is a very good medium-format photo printer.

Canon I9900 Photo Printer Printer

The i9900 Photo Printer is the first Canon model to add red and green inks to its palette, enabling it to reproduce a broader range of colors in photos. This $480 printer also has light photo cyan and light photo magenta inks, which Canon says will be...

Speedy prints ; Produces great quality photos

No media slots but supports PictBridge ; Lacks a control panel

The i9900 can operate with its paper trays folded partway up, which saves space on your desk when you're printing on letter-size paper. The printer comes with USB 1.1 and USB 2.0 ports, as well as a Mac-only six-pin FireWire port on the back. If you're...

Editors' Choice: Canon i9900 Photo Printer

For high-quality photos up to 13 by 19 inches without the wait, the Canon i9900 Photo Printer is our printer of choice. It can serve as an all-purpose printer, but that would be like using a Porsche 911T as your everyday car.

Fast performance for photos. Separate cartridge for each ink color; true photo quality output. Direct printing from PictBridge cameras

No memory cards slots, even for transferring files to your PC; relatively slow for standard printing

Eight ink colors give the Canon i9900 a wide color gamut and true photo quality output, while 6,144 nozzles let it print photos at breathtaking speeds. It's also fast enough for business applications to serve as an all-purpose printer with excellent...

Canon i9900 Printer

Responding to your requests for more printer reviews after our Hi-Touch series, we vowed to hit the big three this year: Hewlett-Packard, Epson and now Canon.HP stunned us with gorgeous dye-based inkjet prints...

Let's see. High resolution, microfine droplets, extended color gamut, speed, great software, affordable, even a nice looking box with high-speed port, plus support for printing directly from some cameras. We thought we were in heaven when we saw our...

Canon i9900 - Canon Ink-Jet Photo Printers

The printer you should purchase depends on your workflow, desk real estate, and budget, as well as the printer's image quality and image longevity. Of these two models, I prefer the i9900 for its ability to produce much bigger prints and for its...

Great color ; fast ; quiet ; can produce larger prints than the Pixma iP8500 ; FireWire connection

Dye-based inks lack long-range archival permanence ; no option for fine-art papers ; black-and-white prints have a sepia cast ; no duplex printing

Canon i9900 Photo Printer: Fast, Affordable, Great Quality

Canon's new compact i9900 Photo Printer is a triple threat: it quickly produces richly colored prints up to 13 x 19 inches at a price point of less than $500.

The i9900 sounds interesting. Re Epson clogging, I've owned four (currently 1270 and 2200) and find that if they are always shut down with their own power switch--rather than leaving the printer ON and killing power somewhere upstream--there are NO...

Canon i9950 A3 Printer

The i9950 is Canon's latest A3 printer. Is it as fast as it claims?

The usual ‘install drivers and support software and plug in printer’ regime gets you up and running and there a good set of support applets supplied by Canon. These cover basic photo editing and label production, but you’re going to need something more...
