Canon Pixma iP2702 Photo Printer

The Canon Pixma iP2702 Photo Printer produces good text output at a cut-rate price.

Bargain price. Above-par text quality.

Lackluster photo quality. Slow, particularly for business apps.

Canon Pixma iP2702

The Canon Pixma iP2702 inkjet printer costs just $50 (as of March 10, 2010), and it delivers what you can reasonably expect for that price: adequacy. In our tests, its photo speed and image quality stood out. It's an otherwise humdrum package, however,...

Low purchase price

Lackluster speed and plain-paper print quality ; High ink costs

This inkjet printer may be cheap to buy, but its high ink costs and mediocre performance make it less of a bargain than you'd think.

Review: Canon Pixma iP2702 printer

If you just want a cheap inkjet printer for the occasional photo or casual printout, the Pixma iP2702 can provide that basic level of service.

The iP2702 is spare but well designed. It has no control panel, only power and cancel/resume buttons. The top-mounted, vertical input tray doubles as a cover for the printer's innards and feels sturdier than most front-mounted paper trays we've seen....

Canon Pixma iP2702 Printer Review

A scientific, in-depth analysis with side-by-side comparisons

The iP2702 is a cheap printer: it costs just $49, which isn't much more than the cost of the two ink cartridges it uses. But that doesn't make it a bad printer, and we found that it produced good performance overall. And you can't really argue with the...

Canon Pixma iP2702 review

Multi-function printers rule the roost when it comes to inkjet printing, but there's always room for a low-cost, no-frills, single-function printer. That's the niche Canon's Pixma iP2702 is looking to fill and, at just £31, it already meets the primary...

If you're looking for a simple inkjet that just does the basics, the iP2702 is a cheap and effective choice.

Canon Pixma iP2702 review

Few areas of IT offer such a diverse range of models as the inkjet printer market. At the top end the meatiest page churners cost hundreds of pounds, and go head-to-head with heavyweight lasers.

The Canon Pixma iP2702 produces performance that’s unexceptional but quite satisfactory given the price. Should you be looking for an ultra-cheap (almost disposable) printer, we think you might be pleasantly surprised by the results. Unfortunately, the...
